Still Drunk
I have never been drunk in my life, he said as the smell of alcohol hung around him. It was hard to stand next to him but these days you have to hold your breath and tolerate everything because if you don't you are discriminating. Like it or not I did it and hoped the bus would come soon. Not that it is pleasant to be squeezed in there like a sardine in a can while trying to breathe through your mouth so you don't have to smell the many unwashed bodies. It is no wonder that everyone has a car and no one takes public transport for fun.
Still drunk? No way.. he kept babbling and there was no way not to hear his complaints as he continued to burp and rant to everyone around him.
The bus driver didn't care much. He had the best seat and drove on unperturbed, not taking into account the fact that there was no seat for two-thirds of the passengers and at least half of them could not or did not dare to hold on to anything when the bus took a bend or braked abruptly.
We drove on and on and it seemed to go on forever, the passengers started to complain and also wondered where the stop button was in the bus. There was nowhere a button found to press and also the emergency brake was missing as a guy who stood at the doors shouted.
The drunk started to sing a song: "Do you know what I see when I've been drinking...."
Aha, shouted a lady, you're drunk!
No!
Well!
It felt like it would go on forever and besides a rancid smell, a fight now also seemed to break out. Before I knew it, it happened one wanted to hit the drunk and the other tried to defend him.
I'm not feeling well, I shouted as I tried to make my way out between the fighting sweaty bodies. Finally, I reached the door, stumbling over a bag lying around, I grabbed the door handle.
Let me out, I shouted at the top of my lungs.
Unexpectedly I felt a soaking wet splash in my face.
Wake up sleepyhead, my sister chuckled, uncle Hannes is coming today.
With a jerk, I sat upright in my bed. My brain was working at full speed even though I couldn't open my eyes yet. Uncle Hannes the drunkard, that was the man I had seen in my dreams.

I'm so glad I read your story with so much attention, it made me smile in the end 😊 It's great that you've never had alcohol and in my opinion, drivers should never drink at all. They can't even imagine how much harm it can cause, they're playing with other people's lives. All alcohol consumers should understand that they're not treating their health well and at the end of the story, I was thankful that it was just your dream and you didn't have to face all this in reality .
I suddenly remembered I had it once after giving birth it was an attempt to kill the pain but that didn't work. I waited, waited and waited...
We have shocking commercials about drinking and driving but a real drunk? He will not recognize himself in it, see it as a warning. An addict is an addict, denies and says you make it up he drinks.
