Chrome is really famous. A lot of people are using it for the same reason (security). But, how do we assess that it is more secure than any other browser? Is it because it is famous? Or, is it because, the company is well known?
I guess there is more to it when it comes to security.
No they do not use chrome for security reason but because it is promoted or forced upon us because many applications and tools only work with chrome.
Those who care about safety will use something else and avoid google as much as possible!

The best advice I have ever heard in this platform. It's not only a matter of browser, the searcher have more influence in the access of junk in your device o computer. Avoid completely google as a searcher, instead you may use DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, bing, Thor, Presearch and others.
Related with the browser, I like Opera with Brave as second option. The first is the faster if you use a Mac computer.

I like to add that those who do use google should have a look at their account an switch off as much as possible. There's a life without google, without signing in for everything, without using google payment and what ever more they have to offer.

I wonder why so many people are advising against Chrome when it comes to safety. I still do not see anyone talking purely about security features. But, I do get why this is.
In terms of search engines, I would endorse the first two. The rest, I am not sure about. But, I think Bing is Microsoft search engine. Isn't it?

Well, I think you have got a point there. You're right, it feels like a mandatory thing at times.
There is still quite good number of people saying that it is more secure compared to the alternatives. So, when it comes to only security that could be an advantage. But, I have not seen it tested.
I think that we should try to find security ourselves, some browsers offer more than others, but it is more up to us to find the way, the algorithms detect too much and are always present.
