Nature: God's way of consoling || A foodie is always a foodie irrespective of the economy|| Diary Game 22nd August 2024.
I have always been a foodie right from the days of my little weenings. I have even lost a tooth or two due to sweet eatings. From stories my mum would always tell me of my uncle and I waltzing out of the house numerous times to buy something for the little one to chew. My mouth never remained silent for too long, there was always something sweet to chew.
Oh well, I paid for it in my latter years when I had to endure the pains of toothache and pulling out a few molars.
Would i tow the same line again if given the opportunity?, maybe not. Maybe I'll take brushing my teeth twice a day more serious as a growing infant, but one thing I'm sure about is that I have learnt my lessons and won't allow my children repeat the same mistakes I made either out of ignorance or lack of proper vigilisation.
Welcome to my diary session of the 22nd August 2024.
Little wonder why I started with that entry?, You'll find out as you read along. The cost of things in my country has become so expensive that 2 dollars worth of steem can't buy a decent breakfast for the common man on the street, yet the hustle for survival remains rift.
What would have been sold for 1 steem now, will go as high as 3 dollar worth of steem with a reduced quality and quantity. Take for instance this slice of watermelon I bought yesterday
Before now this slice of watermelon would go for 150naira, the equivalent of 0.5 steem, but as I asked the man selling to give me watermelon and i touched this one, he smiled. I instantly knew there was a price increase and alas there was. If you won't buy for 3 steem worth, he's not selling.
Oh well, is there a choice to this??. I believe he sells based on how much he buys.
Leaving his shop I headed straight to a meeting I was almost running late for. You know the feeling of being at a place one too many times, will cause familiarity blindness.
As I alighted from the vehicle carrying me, my eyes caught on a beautiful scene just across from me.
- How had I not seen this place before or paid any attention to it??? I asked myself
Beside me was a roadside garden. A horticultural masterpiece spiced with colourful paint drawings hung on the wall and ohh the sun's setting rays upon it made me stand there for minutes just gazing at it.
When the horn of vehicles brought me back to the present, I took out my phone and clicked off some shots. This definitely is for steemit I thought.

That reminds me, I was headed to a meeting before now, and so, off I went.
I arrived the meeting at exactly 4:30pm though I had planned to get here earlier. The students we were supposed to meet had started gathering but in trickles, so we had to wait for about 25 more minutes until we had a good number, then we kicked off.
The meeting ended by some minutes after 6pm and I couldn't help but rush home as all through the meeting, strong winds kept blowing and I was already feeling the cold and with that I called it a day.
Did I tell you I had noodles and egg for breakfast but didn't drink water as the supply of water I had at the time had been exhausted, hence my need to buy watermelon to quench my thirst later on.
I hope you enjoyed the read!.
Thank you @ruthjoe
Helloo dear @ngozi996
Wow! Enjoyed reading your post. It is a fact that inflation has made life difficult for people. Food prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. The way you have described your experiences and observations is very interesting. Especially the scene you mentioned, the beauty of nature is really soothing. Loved your diary game, and hope you keep writing such beautiful posts
Thank you for sparing time to read @shabbir86
