Happiness shrouded in sorrow

About a week ago, on January 16, 2025 to be precise, I was reading an announcement from the Steemit Blog about the announcement of the 2024 Steemit Award. I felt very happy because my name was mentioned as one of the recipients of the best teacher award Steemit Awards 2024. But after a while, this happiness was mixed with grief. My wife called and informed me that Abuwa (@fajrularifst's biological father), who is also my wife's cousin, had passed away.
Hearing the news, my wife and I immediately prepared to leave for Kuala Simpang by car, with the aim of seeing the body one last time before it was buried.
The journey from where we lived in Lhokseumawe to Kuala Simpang was about 187 km and usually took four hours. I drove the car quickly, but still prioritized safety.
Throughout the journey, my wife occasionally cried, remembering the moments of togetherness and happiness she had shared with the deceased. I tried my best to cheer her up so she wouldn't be sad.
After a long journey, we finally arrived at the funeral home. There, we saw the extended family sitting around the body, mourning his passing. When I looked at the face of the deceased, there was a smile and a glowing look, which are good signs for someone who is about to meet his Lord.
Some time later, the body was taken to the mosque by ambulance. I also accompanied the body to the mosque for prayers. When I got there, it was already Asr prayer time. Together with the community, I performed the Asr prayer in congregation first.
After finishing the Asr prayer, we continued with the funeral prayer. The body was placed in front of the worshipers standing in the first row. At that time, Fajrul Arif, the son of the deceased, was appointed as the imam to lead the funeral prayer for his father.
Next, the body was taken to be buried at the nearest public cemetery. I helped to participate in the funeral process, I raised the folds of my pants a little and took off all my accessories and then entered the grave to put the body into the grave door.
Me, fajrularif and Rama were directly inside the grave, the villagers helped each other to lift the body and handed it to us who were already inside the grave.
We hugged the body tightly with both hands. We did not feel the slightest difficulty in lifting the body of the deceased despite his large stature, his body felt very light. Was this again a good sign.
We slowly put him into the grave, we followed the instructions delivered by the ustadz who were there, slowly we untied the shroud rope that tied the body of the deceased. Then we laid the soil to prop up the deceased's body parts starting from the waist, body, and head.
After the whole series is completed, one by one the cover board is closed to cover the grave door, then slowly we bury the deceased with soil. We do this together and are assisted by the community around the neighborhood.
After we finished burying the body we then continued with a prayer session, after which flowers were sown on the grave, then water was poured over the grave as a gesture to keep the deceased in the grave cool and cool.
Of course we are all very sad, the departure of the deceased is a loss for me and my family because from now on there are no more parents who always guide, advise, and motivate us.
During his life, the deceased was a kind, generous, sociable and humorous person. His interesting life experiences can inspire everyone who listens to his stories. I have heard all the stories from him and I have learned a lot about his life experiences and business strategies which was always our topic of conversation when we met. I still remember the times we used to talk, laugh and joke together.
There is nothing more to say, there is no need to cry over people who have gone to meet God the creator, because one of the ways to enter the most beautiful place, Heaven, is through death.
When I remember you, I can only pray. May Allah SWT give you the best place by His side, Amen.
Thus this article, hopefully useful and inspiring all who read it. Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to comment.

I got very emotional after reading the post. As the pain of losing a loved one is deep, this expression of respect and love for him is truly admirable. May Allah grant the deceased Jannatul Ferdows and give strength to all the family to bear this grief. 🤲
