It's true that not all the expressions that we know or that are popular are true. Some may be true in some aspects while it may not apply to other aspects.
But as we know we have to be careful of the ones to believe or repeat.
Seeing is believing vs knowing is believing
- Seeing is believing!
This is an expression that people use when trying to say that they have to see something before they can believe it exists or that it is true. It is true that what appears to the eyes is what is likely believed, many humans claim that this statement is true and most people don't even believe what they are told until they see it. That's also why there is another statement that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. But for me I think that this statement can be misleading because what we see is not always what it really is. And what we don't see sometimes may even be truer that what we have seen, besides, all that glitters is not gold. Due to this expression, I think many justice has been perverted and the innocent judged wrongly. This is also another expression but I fee this one is much truer that the first one. People cannot see the wind but they believe it exists because of the evidence around us, we feel it. Also we live in a world where we are surrounded by what others want us to see and believe. For example, the news media creates something, published it and when we see it in the news we tend to believe it. We cannot possibly believe everything we see because someone might just set something up for us to see it and make it appears somehow he wants. An example if this is: I may know someone named Fred. But someone sets him up and I come to see what appears ro be happening, it will be wise for me to be careful, not to draw a fast conclusion since I already know him and the things he can do. And so I try to investigate well on the matter to know the whole truth, and if he really acted that way, what led to it. So knowing the whole fact is believing! Its not everything we see that we must believe, its true we have eyes to see and we can perceive a whole lot from what us seen. But we must also agree that it's not everything we see is how it is. On the other hand, trying to find out all the details and facts is rewarding.

Knowing something can mean investigating it well and going beyond what the eyes can see, looking carefully into a matter and knowing the whole truth.
I think this is what should be used mostly when judging someone, first investigate well to know what really happened not only depending on what they saw or what th witness has said. Knowing the whole truth of a matter can save a peron from perverted justice.
Also, people cannot see God but many believe he exists because we also see the evidences around us, from the things created.

Thats right, we can see and believe but not everything we see is worth believing
it's easy to believe something without finding out and seeing it for yourself is not good, because it could be that what is being discussed is not true, especially as the development of the technological age is increasingly developing, making people it's too easy to believe something without knowing the ins and outs of the truth.
