The Diary Game 20/1/2025|| Replanting Okra Seed in a Flood Affected Area
Greetings friends!
Welcome to my blog i believe you had a wonderful day.
Today Monday i had an appointment with some workers that was supposed to work or me in the farm but it was rescheduled due to the heavy rain fall of last weekend.
My seasonal okra cultivation had bigun while i was away i had already made good arrangements for my farm work to begin under my mum supervision it was going smoothly the okra was planted few days before the heavy rain fall,
Today arriving at the farm i was relieved because though some part were flooded it wasn't as bad as i thought it might be.
Though the flood was not that serious another big disadvantage was that the weed started sprouting and growing faster because of the wet soil,
I walked around and inspected all corners of my farm space and saw that they were places were the okra had died off due to the flood and some were not able to even germinate.
flood affected area
This particular area did not germinate at all i check and saw that the seed had already started fermenting so the possibility of the okra geminating was zero.
planting okra
Since the water had already left the soil i started planting okra in the affected area, this took alot of time and energy because i had to discover and replace okra seed in all the damaged area it took four hours to complete the planting process.
i also plant maize round my farm boundary to help me know exactly were my space ends when the okra becomes all grown anyone working for me wont trespass into someone else's farm.
After a while of taking break which i used in having my launch i went round to check what could be done to prevent the flooding from reoccurring.
filled gutter
The gutter was filled up releasing water into the farm, i inspected and make an appointment with some farm workers that will drain out the water from the gutter to help evacuate the remaining water in the soil, this will be done another day possibly this weekend.
I had a hectic but successful day thought it would be nice to share my day with my steemit friends.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
Hope you will have a good income!
