A very sensitive topic to discuss, gender is very critical in different cultures. Different countries and culture have their different perspective of veiwing gender but in my own country and culture, a boy child is more important than a girl child.

Does gender play a role in your everyday life

Gender plays a crucial role in our everyday life. Starting from the family. In a family where the children are made up of six girl child without any boy child. During the olden days the man(husband) who is the head of the family married another woman who can give him a male child.

The olden days traditions have also affected the modem age, most married women feel restless if they do not have a male child in the family. The preference was to have someone who will still have the family surname and still continues the lineage due to the girl child will be married into another family and build up her home.

In the family where there are both genders, the male do the most taskfull work than the female.
Even at the workplace where both genders are employed, there are taskfull job which the male gender take care of while giving much preference to the female employee.

How does the role or function I'm your country differ from gender to gender?

In my country, Nigeria, our culture differs but in Igbo culture. The male gender will be required to learn some trade, go to school and make money and also be responsible to take care of the family.

The male gender is required to take care of the family and provide the basic needs of the family. The male gender is required to get married, love respect and care for the wife and children.

The female gender is required to stay at home and take care of the house chores, like cooking for the family, take care of the children and husband.

Presently, some of the traditions are changing gradually,women now go to school and further their education to a higher level. Women now work in different institutions and government officials, they are now into politics and other government parastatals.

Is it the same for other countries?

From the African perspective and comparing that to other countries, I would say there are quite some differences.
Female gender are given high priority. Some white women divorce and send their husbands out of the house which is unusual in my country.

Female genders at the age of 18 move out of their parents house and stay alone, cater for themselves and further their education, which is unusual in my country.

Household chores are being shared between the female gender and make gender which is unusual in my country.
However there are similarities. In some countries, female gender have the responsibility of taking care of the home while male gender provide the basic needs of the family.

What about Steemit?

In the platform, both the male folks and female work together in so many projects and in different Communities to curations of both genders work.

Conclusion

Both genders are important in everyday life and there should be no discrimination between the both gender. The female folks should have the rights just as the male folks because everyone is important and valuable in the society.
