How to Effectively Utilize Technology in Learning.
Greetings to the steemians in the house. It is a blessing to participate and share my view about the importance of technology in learning. Thanks to @shiftitamanna for the contest. Be blessed as you read through.
This question reminds me of a question I once came across in the examination hall. The lecturer asked if it is possible to succeed in the university without utilizing the school library. Hmm, to me the answer was yes. Of course with the technology at hand, anyone can succeed in school without going or making use of the library. But guess what, I wrote is it not possible for a student to succeed without making use of the library? Are you surprised at why I did that? Well, I knew he would score me wrong if I wrote otherwise. You know I needed the mark.
Technology has given us the biggest library that we need to succeed in both learning and teaching exercises. All we need is our phone or laptop together with Data. At the comfort of our bed, we can google whatever we want to learn. Just anything at all. Even if you don't know how to read, YouTube has made provision for it. All you need is to go on it and watch videos. On a personal level, I have been learning forex trading with the help of my phone. I go online to download materials and also YouTube to watch videos. It's as simple as that.
Oh..., I feel sorry for my grannies who were not opportune to enjoy the technology we have at hand today. Without a doubt, they could have been more educated than they were. During their time, the only ways you could learn something was either through a resource person (teacher) or going to the library. But the question is how much can you learn from the library? How many good materials are in the library? And how effective were the resource persons?
Today we are comfortable learning new things in the comfort of our home. Being it how to cook, write, draw, farm, just mention it. There is absolutely nothing you can not learn with the presence of the current technology. Yesterday I was busy on YouTube learning about Faraday's law of electrostatic induction. I was amazed by how well some authors explained it on YouTube. I learned everything on YouTube with the help of my phone.
Technology has given us many resources needed to make learning easy and accessible. Nevertheless, the basic technology is our phones and laptops. With them, we can access Google, YouTube, and any social network of your choice to learn whatever pleases you.
As for me, whenever I feel a need to learn something new, I make use of my phone to go on YouTube, Google, or Facebook to search and learn.
The importance of technology in learning is one thing that can not be overemphasized. Unlike before, students don't have to suffer the pain of learning new things with difficulties or finding it hard to do assignments. Some years ago, students only made use of the library to solve assignments or learn things, and the problem was that most of the libraries were not equipped enough to give you all the information you needed. Today, with our phones we have the world in our hands.
I now call on @yakspeace @ruthjoe and @josepha to participate.
