Scaling Arya's Teeth: A Quick Update
Dr. Arslan advised me to opt for Arya's scaling as soon as possible. She has been struggling with periodontal problems for a long time, which has significantly impacted her health. The condition caused severe discomfort, restricting her from enjoying our routine diet. As a result, she grew extremely weak and became anemic, which deeply concerned me.
Dr. Arslan, understanding my worries, suggested that I carry out the scaling procedure myself under his guidance. Initially, I was apprehensive since it was my first time performing such a delicate procedure, especially on my baby. However, I felt a strong desire to be personally involved in her care and help her regain her health.
With his reassurance, I decided to take on the responsibility.
The procedure was carried out under general anesthesia, during which propofol was administered through an IV line. Given that propofol is short-acting, we had to administer it multiple times throughout the process to ensure Arya remained comfortable and still. The entire procedure lasted over 30 minutes, requiring precision and careful monitoring. It was crucial to manage the anesthesia effectively, as maintaining a steady level of sedation was key to completing the scaling successfully.
I won’t gross you out by sharing the pre-scaling pictures, as her condition before the procedure was quite severe. However, I’m happy to show you the post-operative picture
Guys, this is a sincere request. Arya is not doing good at all. I did her CBC, Liver function test and renal function test and she has a severe infection. She's not able to walk, speak or even move. I only have faith that she'll recover soon.
Oh. You once mentioned that she is quite old for a cat in your region... She would still have a good time ahead of her here, I think. Hopefully you'll give her a few more years - respect for having the courage to treat her yourself!
She is no more. I lost her
