Have you ever wonder a world without rules and regulations? Every where will be chaos, disordeliness will prevail but all thanks to law, because it has govern the conduct and behavior of people in society. Law is so important, it helps protect people's rights and liberty, it helps to maintain Orderliness in society, to settles disputes, and lastly, it establishes standards. Getting to know and understand the basic notions of law which includes justice, rule of law and legality is so important for anyone to comprehend how societies works and how we can interact with others.

What Is Law:

I understand law to be a set of rules and regulations that govern the conduct of the members of society. It regulates how people deals with one another and ensures that there's Orderliness and fairness. It also outlined the consequences of breaking the rules. These rules are so important, and it's a must we keep them to maintain peaceful coexistence in our communities.

Examples Of Objective Law and Subjective Law In Nigeria:

• 1. Traffic Laws: In Nigeria, we have rules that govern how vehicles must be operate on the roads. For example, all driver must obey the traffic lights, and there's also a penalty for breaking these rules.
• 1. Criminal Laws: We have laws that define crimes, for example, theft or assault. These laws are enforced with their penalties and it's a must that everyone obeys these laws, else you suffer the penalty.

Subjective Law Example:

• 1. Right To Vote: Every Nigerians who are up to 18 years have the subjective right to vote and be voted for. They can decide to participate in elections, and choose whoever they want to lead them.
• 1. Right to Freedom of Expression: All Nigerians have the right to express their opinions, this right is protected by the law, just that we are free to decide whether to use this right or not.

The difference between objective law and subjective law is that one is very compulsory, yes, a must for everyone to keep (objective law). If not, you will suffer the penalty. While Subjective law is a choice, we can decide to exercise the right or not, whichever is the case, the law protected these right.

Case Study Analysis:

• Objective Law: the traffic law regarding drivers obeying the traffic lights is evident when a driver disregard the red light which means he should stop.

• Subjective Law: The driver has the right to Justify his actions of beating the traffic by claiming an emergency, this reflects his subjective right to seek help for his son.

Comparison Of Law And Norm (Nigeria Example):

Example of a Law in Nigeria: The Nigerian Criminal code specify clearly the legal repercussions for committing various crimes like Fraud and Murder.

Example of a Norm in Nigeria: There are some guidelines to govern the conduct of people in the neighborhood, for example neighbors should keep down the noise level during the night in order to promote peaceful environment. This is a normal and it has legal backing.

Case study Analysis:

• Violation of Law: Mr Juan Perez has violated rental law by failing to pay his rent for good three months. The landlord has the right to evict him because here in Nigeria there's such legal right under Nigerian tenancy laws.

• Violation Of Norm: Mr. Juan did not follow the norm of the community and compound he's living. By owning 4 dogs he violates the building's rules of coexistence, though this may not have legal penalties, it can result in other co-tenants complaining about him to the apartment association, and this bodies may take action against him.*

Importance of Comparative Law:

Comparative law is so important, because with it we can learn from other nations legal systems and practices. When we study laws from various countries, we will be able to identify effective approaches to similar legal challenges, and then improve our own laws, making sure that we are fair and just.

The world is more globalized now, so understanding how other countries handles their legal matters can help us enhance our human rights, commerce and crime prevention. We will be able to improve our legal understanding and this will lead to a more unified approach to issues that bothers people globally.

Knowing the fundamental legal concept is so important to navigate the complexity of our modern world. Law shapes who we are, through it we gets to know our expectations, justice and order. By understanding its basic notions we come to understand other people better, and appreciate their rights and responsibilities. We've come to be governed by the level system.*
