The diary game: 21-02-2023 A day at the hospital with my mum
Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last made any post on this platform and I'm so glad to be back finally.
Now to the business of the day. In this article, I will be taking you through the journey of my day at the hospital with my mum.
My mum usually goes to the hospital regularly to see her doctor and also do some check ups and this day was not different from every other day.
We woke up early but not very early though, we prepared and by 10 am we were already on our way to the hospital. The distance from where we live to the hospital is about 9km.

After spending about 50mins on the road, we arrived at the hospital at last. Now we were on our way to the reception office because before you can see a doctor or do anything as a patient you must have been registered and had your details checked in that office. We arrived at the reception office and then we had to wait for my mum's name to be called.

After we had been cleared at the reception office, we could now go to the doctor's office were we would have to wait again until it gets to our turn. This is one thing I hate most about hospitals, every department you go to you will have to wait for so long before it gets to your turn. But on this day it seems we were lucky because as soon as we got to doctor's office we were attended to.
The doctor asked us to go to the pharmacy unit to get the drugs he had prescribed for my mother. We were also immediately attended to in this unit. It seems like there were not much people in the hospital, which I think could be because of the naira scarcity in my country.
Finally we were on our way back home. My mum was already exhausted so I had to assist her sometimes when she was walking.
This is the emergency unit. Niger Delta university teaching hospital Okolobiri, Bayelsa state, Nigeria.
Indeed it was a day well spent. Not just because I had fun but because it was an opportunity to be of great help to my mum.

Hmm am glad you and your mum were finally attended too at the hospital.
If there is anything I hate doing is waiting on the queue for a long time especially in banks.
