Be alert to your account security, account theft is trending again!!

Please be aware of your account security, again today I received a text message from a friend of mine "Rayfa" informing me that her account was stolen and all keys were being compromised by an unknown (theft). She realized that her dormant account had been compromised by this afternoon.
She realized her account was being compromised when she checked it on www.steemworld.org and the power down initiated.
Meanwhile, I am trying my best to initiate the recovery account process, but it take some time to get the account back. The information I got from her is that her account has not been used for a long while and is only active on the Auto Vote services. Another thing is the keys have not changed for a long time.
So far, there is no withdrawal record in her wallet so the thief has not yet been recognized, and the most important thing now is to recover the account immediately.
It is better to check your account regularly even though you are not actively making any posts. It is to ensure your security account and be aware of the possibility of being a victim of a stolen account.
One of my close friends @anuekpineung78 also experienced the same after his account was inactive and he did not realize until the account was empty.
I hope the recovery account will succeed soon because some amount of the steem will be withdrawn within 4 days.

Which auto-voting service was this account using?
She doesn't remember which one she used a long time ago, but the service is still active until now. What I found is that her account still connects to many third-party app. as the below picture shows:

So, it is difficult to say from which application the thief could get the account keys

The recovery process was initiated yesterday, I cannot do it now unless the recovery process succeeds in getting the posting key and revoking the permissions

It happened to me too and not once. I wish I could say it is because of selling etc but better keep an eye on those asking to click a link to vote for witness. More than once this is the reason why the account is stolen.
I think it's a bit useless to ask those who rarely post to check their wallet frequently since they won't be around.
To recover accounts is a real pain and I managed to do so but I couldn't explain it to others. It will be hard too if the explanation is in English and you can't oversee the entire picture. I know for example on a phone it is not possible to see as much as those who are using a pc.
I hope it all will work out fine, I doubt this problem will ever be solved and it's clear the passwords used can be hacked too. It's no guarantee or protection.
That is right, and I have successfully recovered more than 20 accounts from 2021 till now, the cases mostly happen when the price is high and to dormant accounts or those who rarely check their account operation. For this one perhaps it happened because the account is still connected to some third-party apps.
What kind of third-party apps? Is SteemPro mobile such an app? What about steemworld?

This things has happened to me before, someone use to account and label me bad name on this great platform Steemit, which it is till affecting me up till now...

It's just so sad how some persons will not try their best to grow their own earnings. But instead, they seek to steal other people's sweat. I am glad that we have people who can help to recover lost accounts.
