Weekly Reflections #31: Lessons from my Profession | "A Marketing Professional with Technical Background"

I am a marketing professional, and hence I know what tools and technology we use for marketing. We use different technologies to improve our marketing technology, and it all depends on the sector of marketing we are in. The one who works in FMCG does not work in heavy engineering, and the one who works in retail does not work in wholesale business.

 

I have worked in marketing both at direct marketing and at the highest level of marketing in corporate sector, and since I have worked in the field of heavy engineering to electronics, I have improved my working methods accordingly, although the fundamentals of marketing are the same.

I will not go into much technical detail, but I would definitely like to say that a marketing professional should be as dedicated to his company as he is to his customers and should keep some percentage for himself. If a marketing professional keeps these things in mind, then he can use the most effective strategies for his company.

How can you be successful in your career?

It goes without saying that everyone wants to be successful in their life, but I always wanted to be a traveler, so despite my engineering background, I did additional training in marketing management, which helped me to move ahead and reach my goal.

You would like to know that to be successful in life, not only hard work but also setting your goals and putting in all your efforts to achieve them is more important. As they say, it is not hard work but smart work that brings you success faster.

Which person in the world would not want to be successful? For this, everyone works very hard, but sometimes it happens that your hard work does not yield results as per your expectations, and even after all your efforts, you don't succeed.

To achieve success, it is most important that you keep your goal very clear, unless you have a clear vision and a clear goal, you will not be able to move forward in that direction. Not only this, along with deciding your goal, set a time period that we have to achieve our goal within this time.

While achieving the goal, you may have to face many challenges. In such a situation, instead of giving up and sitting down from these challenges, it is better to keep yourself ready for the challenges. Whether it is a financial problem or a physical problem, you have to keep yourself ready for all these challenges.

To be successful, it is most important that you move forward with positive thinking. You will face many stages that can bring negativity to your mind, but keeping those negative aspects away, you should concentrate your attention on the positive side.

Self-evaluation, i.e., recognizing the strengths and shortcomings within oneself, is most important. When you are able to identify your weaknesses and shortcomings and know what your strengths are, then you will definitely improve yourself and will be able to reach your goals easily.

Here, I should tell you that if you are not born for doing a job, then you will not succeed in a job but in your own business or maybe in writing or freelancing. I firmly believe that there is a door to success for everyone; the only way to open it is to knock at the right one.

I am in three different professions at the same time, so I will discuss all three:

I am a salesman

If you are willing to know how to be a good salesman, you should have a variety of skill sets, including never say never attitude, punctuality, communication skills, undying confidence, and a pleasant behavior. A perfect salesperson knows all about his product or service and company, the needs of his customer, and is able to build long-term relationships with his customers. A salesperson is dedicated to his company, himself, and most of all, his customers. A sale is not complete until you keep a follow-up.

I am a content creator

I am certainly not a great content creator, but to progress constantly on Steemit, I have studied its pattern deeply. I was lost in the vast communities on this site, but then I found the blog of @disconnect and worked on my niche. Likewise, I worked on various communities and posted my travel-related content. I always try to select the contests where I can add something and that captivates the audience with relevant and useful entertainment. Being a travel writer, most of my posts are travel-related. To be frank, I am no good at ongoing "learning contest" topics; therefore, I stay away from them.

I am a photographer

To be frank, I always wanted to be a traveler walking in the Himalayas, along the sea, forests watching animals and birds, taking pictures, and writing about that with a camera in my hand. I have succeeded to some extent despite all my shortcomings or busy with my professional engagements. However, if I still get a chance, I never let the opportunity go. I pick up cameras and travel to the places and fulfill my desire.
