Grief due to a loss

When a person lives the unpleasant experience of losing a family member, the brain makes several series of adaptations in the emotional and cognitive system. It should be noted that these adaptation processes are indispensable because through them, people can organize their lives with the new reality they are living.

Now, the aforementioned is what is known as 'Mourning'. For this reason, various symptoms begin to appear or, failing that, manifestations of all the processes that are adapting to the new reality. These changes include anxiety, loss of appetite and difficulty falling asleep. Similarly, several negative emotions also emerge among them is sadness and anger.

The migratory mourning does not begin to be experienced at the same moment of the migration or, when the processing of the extensive documents that is required to make the migration without any problem is finished. While our attention continues to be on what urges us, grief still does not appear.

Things begin to change when, after being in the country that was selected, you begin to feel the feeling of abandonment towards your own nation and, starting from there, the mourning gives its first symptoms. Specialists nickname it the evil of 6 months because from that period, the migratory mourning is felt more strongly.

Adapt in a positive way

Avoid idealizing the country where you will live and returning to your home nation

If the person has inadequate expectations about the country to which they migrated, this can end in terrible disenchantment. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid making high expectations because only in this way, you can analyze with more analytical eye the good and bad things of that country. In another aspect, one should not idealize the return to the nation of origin and do it with the thought that everything is better than before.

Normalize the situation

Something indispensable that we must have in life is, awareness that life is a continuous change. The emigration process exists since the beginning of humanity and if necessary, going to live for another country does not mean that, at some point, you will not return to the nation of origin or failing that, explore in a different country. All these movements can be seen and, at the same time, take advantage of to get to know different cultures.
