The Diary Game || 15-11-24 || Regional Convention Day 1: "Declare The Goodnews".
Today marked the highly anticipated start of our 3-day regional convention, an event I've been eagerly awaiting. The convention kicked off today being Friday, and will conclude on Sunday. The first day was nothing short of spectacular, offering a rich blend of spiritual nourishment and physical rejuvenation. Although you may have missed today's festivities, don't worry. I'm excited to share my experiences through my diary game, ensuring you stay updated on all the highlights. It all started this way.....
Our convention program with the theme written below. |

I rose early this morning at 4:30 a.m. to prepare for today's convention. My father, who oversees the audio/video equipment, emphasized the importance of arriving at the assembly ground by 6 a.m. to set up the sound system and display the theme. At 5 a.m., our family gathered for our daily worship, delving into scripture and concluding with a heartfelt prayer. Following this, I hastily made my way to the main road to deliver the StayFit music box to my coach, @ngoenyi, as I wouldn't be available later. Upon returning, I quickly got dressed and refreshed, then hastily boarded the bus, ready for our departure to the convention.
After a 20-minute drive, we arrived at our destination. My father promptly headed to the sound department to begin setting up, while my sister borrowed my phone to take some adorable photos of herself and her beautifully manicured nails. They looked absolutely stunning, and in my eyes, They were undoubtedly the queens of the day. I left her to continue taking pictures and stepped out to purchase my convention batch case.
MORNING SESSION
Upon returning, I proceeded directly to the Attendant Overseer's office to submit my application to serve as a volunteer attendant for the day. I was pleased to have my application approved on the spot, having met the necessary criteria, which included being a ministerial servant, demonstrating good character, and exhibiting a neat and respectful dress sense. As I exited the office, the convention commenced with a beautiful opening song, followed by a heartfelt prayer. With these formalities complete, the convention program began in earnest, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. I really enjoyed the morning session.
What I Learnt During The Morning Session
Today's morning teachings underscored the paramount importance of declaring the Good News, as emphasized by God Himself. We were reminded of how God empowered individuals like Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to effectively preach and proclaim God's name to the world. This divine empowerment served as a powerful catalyst for spreading the Gospel message, and today's morning teachings encouraged us to follow in their footsteps, armed with the same Holy Spirit.
The morning session was a truly enriching experience, lasting three hours and providing a rich spiritual feast. Each speaker excelled in their delivery, skillfully uncovering the profound gems hidden within the scriptures. By 11 a.m., the final speaker concluded their presentation, and we were invited to take a 45-minute break. This interlude allowed us to recharge and prepare for the eagerly anticipated afternoon session.
The Food I Ate
You might be amazed by the diverse array of dishes, but I must confess that I thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them during our break this morning. My hunger was quite intense, having skipped breakfast at home due to my father's eagerness to arrive early. Fortunately, I was blessed by the kindness of my brothers and sisters, who generously offered me food from their own provisions. Their warm hospitality and joyful spirit are truly reflective of Jehovah's loving organization, where we are united as one family. I was deeply grateful for their kindness and expressed my heartfelt thanks to each of them. It was a beautiful display of Christian love and generosity.
Photo Gallery: Precious moments with my Christian family
Following the delightful meal, I had the pleasure of capturing some cherished moments with my dear Christian brothers and sisters who had joined me for lunch. As you can see from the photos, their faces radiate joy and warmth, reflecting the happiness that filled our hearts. We had been nourished both spiritually and physically, and the sense of contentment and fellowship was truly palpable.
Indeed, cleanliness is next to Godliness. As the break drew to a close, a group of conscientious individuals, recognizing the importance of maintaining a clean environment, voluntarily took the initiative to pick up trash, including dirt and nylon waste, and dispose of it properly. Their efforts paid off, as the surroundings were soon spotless. To maintain personal hygiene, they then washed their hands, demonstrating a commendable commitment to cleanliness and responsibility.
AFTERNOON SESSION
Following the refreshing 45-minute break, the afternoon session of today's regional convention commenced. We were privileged to hear from a lineup of inspiring speakers, each delving into the scriptures to shed light on the remarkable story of Jesus' birth and the diverse perspectives of those who witnessed it.
What I Learnt During The Afternoon Session
Many people assume that Jesus Christ was born on December 25th, which is why it's celebrated as his birthday. However, today's afternoon teachings shed new light on this tradition. If Jesus were indeed born in December, it would have been during a time of harsh winter and cold weather, making it unlikely for shepherds to be out in the fields with their sheep.
As the Bible account of Jesus' birth describes shepherds visiting him that evening, it suggests that his birth likely occurred during a milder time of year. This casts doubt on the December 25th birthdate, highlighting the importance of examining scripture and historical context to better understand the true events surrounding Jesus' birth.
Serving as an attendant during the afternoon session proved to be a bit challenging. The combination of a satisfying meal and the cool, comfortable environment led some attendees to drift off to sleep. Despite their drowsy state, they made a commendable effort to stay awake when I discreetly signaled them to do so.
As the afternoon drew to a close, the convention came to a heartfelt conclusion at 3:50 p.m. The final moments were marked by a stirring closing song, followed by a poignant prayer from Brother Micah, the convention circuit overseer. As we united in saying "Amen," the atmosphere was filled with a sense of gratitude and fellowship. We then took the opportunity to exchange warm greetings, hugs, and well-wishes, savoring the joy and spiritual nourishment of the day.
As I prepared to leave with my father, our attendant overseer gathered us for a brief meeting. He emphasized the importance of diligently executing our duties while maintaining a peaceful demeanor, avoiding any form of verbal or physical violence. We attentively listened, acknowledged his guidance, and committed to upholding these principles during tomorrow's program.
With the day's events concluded, I took a selfie with friends and rejoined my father, and we headed home. Reflecting on the day, I felt grateful for the spiritual nourishment and fellowship experienced during the first day of the regional convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. I eagerly anticipate tomorrow's program, looking forward to another day of spiritual enrichment and joy.
