My personal observation and experiences in sharing steem through chat by @magcarnie: Being factual is a great tool in steem promo

My experience in sharing steemit in general has been very amazing with just one or two challenges but one thing that makes promoting steemit easier aside friendship is integrity. Sometimes some people I share steem with listen to me because I relate with them well and also I uphold my integrity. One clue to make promoting steem easier is integrity ( be truthful and factual). Gladly I have been able to use different channels to promote steemit; through face to face, Facebook messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp platforms. The Steemit promotional experience has been very amazing and gladly I have been able to reach quite a number of people through steem promotion. Out of the people I spoke to, I have been able to signup 5 people(@gloria-nathan, @kkorankye, @adomako77, @vincent91 and @alexmpiani) on steemit and I have created a group on WhatsApp for them to help make their Steemit journey smooth. Those that I’m not able to chat , I have made YouTube videos to at least reach them.

My Steem Chat Experience

The chat a friend strategy has been one of my major means of promoting steem to people and it has worked effectively. Through chatting a friend I have been able to explain into details about steemit and it has been amazing. It’s all about being informative on the security of steemit, how fun it is to use Steemit and above all how great is to earn on Steemit from writing good posts. I have used Facebook messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp to promote steemit and so far so good, it has been amazing.

My Observation

Social media lately has been tagged as an unsecured place to be because of some few people misusing their social media presence. But I ensure that I inform the friends I chat about how secured steemit is. From my chat experience I observed that a friend was just not interested and I just couldn’t factor why. But the rest of the people I had a chat with were interested which made some to sign up and the others yet to sign up. Some friends were interested too but due to their busy schedules they informed me that they won’t be able to get time now to steem. So far the chats has been good and hopefully those I’ve spoken to who haven’t signed up yet will do so soon. Chatting with those I know will lead them to chatting other people and then chain goes on that way.

My Challenges

I have not really faced any challenge since I started chatting about steemit. I believe that because of the perception people have about steemit I prefer chatting people I know and those people also know other people and with that the chain continues. Security wise, I inform people about steemit keys which helps to keep the account secured and how I have personally benefited from steemit.The only challenge I have is sometimes some people are not responsive to chats because of what they think about social media but all the same I continue to convince them and prove to them how good steemit is but one thing I don’t do is to force people. I convince them then I give them links to read more about steemit then if they are interested then I sign them up. This is because mostly when you sign people up and they are not really interested, they don’t actively post or blog and this makes their present unfelt.

So far chatting with people about steemit on social media has been amazing. Being truthful, factual and not raising the expectations of the person you chat about steemit is the best.
