We had A Successful Steem Powered Outreach at St.Peters Hospital Today: Creating Steem Awareness to the Masses Through Charity

Steem continues to touch lives everyday. Many people have been touched by the power of steem in diverse ways. Today, we embarked on a Steem powered outreach as annouced earlier by @campusconnectgh.

This is Campus Connect Ghana initiative which was aimed at donating books, foods and drinks to children at St. Peter's hospital-Jacobu. This was our way of giving back to our community and also creating steem awareness. We believe outreach programs help greatly in promoting Steem and gaining the confidence of the masses in the brand we represent.

Arrival and Introduction
We arrived at Jacobu around 11am, it is one of the towns in Kumasi-Ghana. It is a remote area with few settlement and limited infrastructural facilities. it was about 2 hour drive from Kumasi where we set off. We received the warmest welcome by the hospital administration at the pediatric ward and after exchanging pleasantries they in turn introduced us to the mothers and kids(patients). We began our program with a word of prayer and we introduced ourselves to the mothers and the children.

Donation and Steem promo
We gave out all the items we brought for the donation. These include food, drinks, books(Steem branded exercise books, color book and a story book. We had a reading session which was led by Miss. Jemima, one of the friends who joined us for the outreach. She read the story book out loud and all the children read after her.

Some of the children were weak whiles others were already recuperating. Our presence and the atmosphere we created at the pediatric ward really rekindled them and brought a great joy. I perceived they even forgot they were unwell. We chatted with the kids after the reading session, asked of their names, school and their future prospects. We also used this opportunity to introduce the hospital staff and those we met at the hospital to steem.

Closure and Departure
After spending a good time with the kids we took some photographs with them and the hospital staff. We were then excorted to tour some of the facilities and wards at the Hospital . We had a nice interaction with the hospital's administrator who was keen to know more about the steem blockchain. As a crypto enthusiasts he became so interested to join us soon and hope to work with us. We left the premises with so much excitement. Our mission was indeed accomplished, lives were touched and Steem awareness was created.

Appreciation
Teamwork is what made this outreach a success. I appreciate the effort of the steem Promo team that I worked with(@mcsamm and @nattybongo) they have been very instrumental to steem Promo work in Ghana.
