I greet is all who work really hard on this platform to earn a living, to enlighten us on how we can improve our business in our every day life, cheers to us all. Not withstanding the downfall of Luna and the shake in the crypto markets. I wish to use this medium to encourage we steemians not to give up on this platform as all these would only take a short period, the market would surely go back to it's normal state.

On that note I wish to use this medium to also tell we users how we can still add value of our currency(being Steem) using this platform and why this it's it's very necessary for the growth of it our individual accounts and the growth Steemit Community as a whole. There are various way by which we users can add value to our currency but I would only be talking about the concept "Powering-Up".

What is Power-Up?

Power-Up is a strategic process of accumulating something for the purpose of gaining more influence of power.
Bringing this down to Steemit, Power-Up is a strategic process accumulating one's steem and storing it away to gain some sort of influence on Steemit platform.

I call it a strategic because not everyone does this because perhaps they have not clearly understood it's function and even if they did, they don't really fancy locking away their steem for storage.

What are the steps involved in powering-up steem?

Some or alot of people might have not been conversant with the concept of powering up, what it does and how to power up. Below is a detailed step on how to power up;

- login to your account on Steemit and click on your "WALLET" button displayed on the menu bar.

- When you're taken to your wallet dashboard, you go to the section of your steem and click on the pop out button on the value of your steem.

- On tapping the pop out button, a list of options to tap appears, click on the column labelled Power up.

- A new page appears the user inputs the value of steem to be powered up on the empty column. To input all the steem you have simply tap on the numbers underlined, it is just below the empty column where you should input the value of steem. But to input just a part of the value of steem you have, simply type the amount you choose to power up.

- You're then taken to a new page where you confirm the vesting account, confirm the transaction and press okay.

Note that the account that is to be powered up is already showing your own account name. If you want to power-up into another user's account let's say "A Friend", simply press on the column "TO" and change the username, make sure you type the correct username.

- The last step is to input you Master password or active key or owner keys as it's the key used for steem transactions. Incase it is not saved, go to the keys you downloaded and saved as pdf documents and copy it and then paste on the last phase of this transaction.

- Go back to your wallet and refresh, you would notice the change (increase) in your steem amount. Powering-up is just that easy.

Key Importances of Powering-up Steem.

Powering-up has really has a major role to play when it comes boosting ones influence in this community. This simply means a person who has an already powered up steem of 7000 (ie steem power [7000 SP]) would have more voting power and would receive more curation rewards than someone who has 500SP and thus the concept of INFLUENCE.

It is also of no doubt, Powering-up has been among one of the key activities that has helped to preserve Steemit Platform and has kept it's value higher than other Crypto-currency mining blog platforms such as hive and blurt. So your see that the more people power up the higher the value of our community (Steemit) is ranked.

Steemit has it's basic function of locking away our steem and keeping it safe and should incase your account gets hacked, powered up steem would take time to be withdrawn from your wallet. This gives the owner a lot of time to facilitate his account recovery process, hence the STORAGE FUNCTION of steem.

On that note, I strongly encourage my fellow Steemians to see the need of Powering-up your Steem as this has some roles to play in our digital niche.

Personal my target for this month is to make a total of 450 steem all powered up. I believe it's possible once I put in the work consistently.
