West Aceh BPBD Distributes Panic Aid to Victims whose Houses were Damaged by Strong Winds.

The West Aceh Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) together with the rehabilitation and reconstruction assessment team handed over emergency response assistance to victims whose houses were damaged by strong winds.

West Aceh BPBD Chief Executive (Kalak), Teuku Ronald Nahdiansyah, said the aid was handed over to three families whose houses were damaged by strong winds in Woyla and Panton Reu Districts.

The assistance is in the form of zinc, instant noodles, cleaning equipment packages or baby kits, blankets and mattresses. The handover was carried out at the victim's house in Gampong Kuala Bhee and Lueng Tano, Woyla District and in Gampong Kuala Manyeu, Panton Reu District, and received directly by the home owner.

"The delivery of this aid is a form of concern from the West Aceh Regency Government (Pemkab) through the BPBD towards the people affected by the disaster," said Teuku Ronald, Saturday, May 25 2024.

A number of houses in West Aceh were damaged by strong winds and falling trees, even one resident of Gampong Kalak, West Woyla District, Paneuk (70) died as a result of being hit by a tree while taking ablution.

Responding to this, West Aceh BPBD Head, Teuku Ronal Nahdiansyah, appealed to the public to avoid tall trees and buildings prone to collapsing, because the south west region of Aceh has been hit by strong winds in recent days.
