#CLUB5050. My Strategy For Stopping Plagiarism On Steemit: by @mustaphaissah.

Using or copying someone’s work while bringing it to their notice is not a problem. The unethical consequences comes when one utilizes or uses someone’s work without their attention, notice or will. Thus, citing or referencing the piece which have been used from others work. Plagiarism is very horrendous on the Steem Blockchain. Hence more* strategize* means of overcoming it must be initiated.

One may ask what plagiarism, ways of putting end to it on this blockchain.
Plagiarism is the act of consuming or using another person work, be it written, drawn, or spoken; as one’s own work without the notice or attention of the original owner or author. Thus without referencing or citing the source of the work. Even ethically it is wrong. Because it’s a form of stealing.
Many people have their perception and view of what plagiarism is and the sanctions.

In my view, it is not bad to read someone’s piece or work to get an idea or overview of something in order to come out with yours. But it shouldn’t be the same thing, it’s just the matter of being creative. Even in the University, you can be given an assignment that you don’t have any information on. But you are permitted to search and get ideas to come out with your own.
And if in the process you are to use someone’s context, be it a sentence or paragraph you have to reference it. Otherwise you would be penalized for such act.

Many people or Steemians lack these things. Though it’s part of the New comers achievements post. But they lack to do this things. Though at times absentmindedness count, but it’s not a factor.

Strategically, to put an end to this. I would advise serious sanctioning, making plagiarism checker known and available to all Steemuans, and the devising of a new tool on the Steemit Blockchain to automatically catch or deny such criminals from posting on the chain if caught.

When adversed users are being caught, they should be banned from posting on communities such things has been made. Or even banned from the blockchain if fallen as victim on several times.
Most Steemians doesn’t know that there is plagiarism checkers. Community admins and moderators must make such sites known to members. It’s very important.it will help reduce the rate of plagiarism.

Moreover, it will be very helpful if they can create a plagiarism checker tool unlike Steemworld, SteemDb and others. This would be the easiest way to reduce it. For instance, if they can create in such a way that if any** blogger** or Steemians want to post on the chain, it will automatically check if there is any form of plagiarism in their post. Because it’s hurtful to create your work and someone seats at his/her own pace and use it as if he’s the principal author.

To conclude, plagiarism is very unethical and if taken to a higher perspective can have a grave consequence. Thus why it’s a hideous crime on the Steem Blockchain. And if some of the above explained factors are taken into consideration, the rate of plagiarism will decrease.
