Our universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old and it's origin and evolution can be described with the Big bang model our current and more convincing theory. In theory however which is based on our current understanding of the laws of physics, it is expected that in the beginning our universe should have possessed both matter and antimatter pairs and both (matter and antimatter) should have annihilated into large amounts of energy as they would surely get in contact with each other, thus preventing our present universe from forming/having no matter at all, but pure energy only.

From our observation, our universe appears to contain matter and that this matter is more present than it's mirror counterpart - antimatter. This however presents a question which is among the unsolved problems in modern physics and it is that, where did most of the antimatter go ? or How did the matter-antimatter distribution become asymmetric ? .
Different models have been proposed to explain the asymmetry but none has been confirmed with high degree of accuracy. Luckily for us, as of recent three astronomers at the university of Toulouse, France have discovered signatures from gamma rays originating from outer space that hints at the possible existence of antimatter stars. According to them....... Read More
