Marianne, The Angel with Golden Wings.

What's up people, happy Wednesday to all who read me and welcome to a new drawing for my blog, today I want to introduce you to Marianne, The Angel of Golden Wings; I have always liked to draw works on this theme as I usually do these works in full body and that helps me to improve in building more complete characters and with a higher level of detail:

PROCESS

I started with my work trying to create Marianne as a young woman, maybe 26 or 27 years old and with a pretty slim and beautiful figure and face; this was quite easy with the help of the comic brush which gives me a very clean and precise sketch. After finishing sketching and outlining the skeleton of my work, I was able to concentrate on applying colors section by session and layer by layer to give my character a good appearance.

As usual I start with the skin and for this one I used reddish colors to achieve a very unique and highlighting skin, little by little I made a volumized with the airbrush to soften as much as possible the skin before blurring it lightly and in this way achieve a very feminine skin. After finishing with the skin the next step was the creation of the Dark Angel's costume, for this I concentrated on creating a kind of tight-fitting garment, but with openings or cuts in certain areas such as the shoulder, arms and legs.

One thing I decided to do on the fly was to add a little blush to Marianne's cheeks, for this I used a layer effect and the airbrush at low opacity; after establishing the blush on the cheeks I continued with the painting of the details of the face like eyes and lips. I decided to paint only one eye since the other one would be covered by hair, I did it this way because I thought it would look special and above all striking; for the eye I mixed orange tones with brown and for the lips scarlet red along with another pair of colors.

The next step in the painting of my drawing was the coloring of the wings to which I wanted to give them a quite outstanding appearance, with enough brightness and shadows to achieve good volume; first I established a couple of yellow tones and then I went towards the brighter shades to get a golden appearance in the wings. After finishing with the wings I continued with the hair painting and here I didn't get too complicated and decided to use soft brown tones to gradually establish a medium relief and thus achieve a fairly adequate realism.

Finally, and to give a little more thematic to my work I decided to create a kind of chaotic scenery with a pretty intense red sky along with some clouds in the back far away; after establishing the base of the sky I decided to create a mound of rocks at Marianne's feet to give the impression that she is standing on top of a mountain almost close to the red clouds. Finally I decided to complement the work a bit more and added some yellow lightning mixed with some reddish haze around it.
