Things That Once Seemed Cool But Now Feel Outdated

Introduction
In the area of technology, I love to embark on a journey down memory land and re-explore two legendary devices that were once cherished, and the people that were privileged to own any of the two devices were considered rich and well-to-do, and they also symbolize coolness but now feel outdated.
The BlackBerry Phones:

In the late 90s and early 2000s, the BlackBerry phones were the best and finest status symbol, developed by Blackberry Company Limited. Blackberry phones were well renowned for the keyboards that were on their devices; their sleek design and secure messaging system made them a must-have for working class men and women and some teenagers whose parents were able to afford for them.Dating back to 2016, the number of people that were using BlackBerry phones reduced drastically due to the rise of Androids by different companies and the recent invention of iPhone devices by Apple company. The once loved physical keyboard is now a burden, and the deficiency of modern specification makes it a fossil of the past.
PalmPilots

I learned that PalmPilot was developed in the early 1990s through late 1990s, a revolutionized personal digital assistants (PDAs). The device had an inbuilt application that allows its users to save contacts, notes, appointments, tasks, and calendars, and it was also used to play games like card games, touch tetris, billiards, free jongg, and others. It also provided a room for the installation of additional applications and other productive tools to improve the functionality of the device as much as needed by the user. The PalmPilot had a wider screen than the BlackBerry phones, and it was touchscreen with a stylus. The stylus is a small metal stick with a rounded tip that was used to interact with the PalmPilot touchscreen interface. However, with the progression in technology, the PalmPilot became obsolete.
What led to their downfall/demise
The two companies that were once leading the technology market are now dead. What went wrong? I want to list a couple of things that led to their unrecoverable downfall:

  1. They both lack the ability to upgrade their devices to meet the tastes of their users.
  2. Their users couldn't continue to use their devices due to their low storage, limited applications, and slow processing of tasks.
  3. BlackBerry and PalmPilot failed to move with the progressing technology.
  4. Blackberry and PalmPilot were heavy compared to the current Androids that are light and carry-able.
How can we relate this to our personal lives?

The fact that life evolved the same way technology evolves means we should be able to improve on our personal lives and development, ensuring that we are not outdated in our different fields. And endeavor to get all the training needed to remain relevant and useful.Don't forget nothing is worth dying for, especially when it comes to purchasing these newly invented devices. Any one you can't afford today will get a better version tomorrow.
    Conclusion
The obsoletion of the above mentioned devices paves the way for new inventions. But their digital footprint remains a reminder of the rapid improvement in the world of technology.
