Lovely weather we’re having! But, it didn’t start out that way! We awoke to cool, cloudy and rainy skies. It rained so much, you could hear it above the worship music at church! The volume of the music was loud! I figured we were socked in for the day. One advantage was not needing to water the garden. One disadvantage was that it kind of puts certain people in a funk. 😏

@silvertop began the installation of one of the windows purchased yesterday. See his post for more details. Somewhere along the line, the sun came out! After a bite of late lunch, we headed out for a hike up the road. I figured we were headed to the pond. I’ve not been hiking much because of my hip/leg, and felt like I needed to try again. @silvertop suggested stopping at Grant’s cabin. Here’s the entrance to the property. No vehicles can make it to the house; foot traffic only.

I love this little place as it’s got so many nooks and crannies to investigate. It is a dry cabin with no plumbing, but there is a super deluxe outhouse with a sink and a shower if you’re so a mind to. Here’s a view of just the cabin from down on the footbridge.

I always look for something that catches my eye, as the sun playing on and through these plants.

I noticed several hummingbird feeders around and stood to watch the biggest one first.

I was less than a foot away from a smaller one. I stood still as they usually accept me as part of the landscape, and got these amazing photos!

This is a Ruby Throated Hummingbird. Very cool!

We eventually headed back home. On the way, I caught this little bee enjoying the Butterfly Bush.

I took a look at the garden today and was shocked to see the corn has finally sprouted! It’s been so cold here the past few weeks, I figured I’d have to do a third planting! The thing is now, lol, I’m not sure which variety has actually come up or if they both have, lol!
