Do you accept open marriages?"

An open marriage is a type of arrangement in which both partners who agree to marry also consent to each other having a sexual or romantic relationship with others outside their marriage. It is an absurd arrangement for me !

Some partners consent to this bizarre arrangement before they say I do, while others decide to try out the twist while they have begun the journey called marriage with claims that they want to try new possibilities.

Some reasons for such a marriage of convenience could be fame, money, flair for a different variety of partners, lack of contentment, and other self-centered ambitions.

I totally disagree with this form of relationship called open marriage. I mean why call it marriage when in reality it is just another form of friendship strictly based on benefits. An open relationship does not make genuine sacrifices, it is just based on each other's selfish desires.

Besides, marriage is meant to be an honorable thing and a union of high repute, where two people come together to become one. So it is wrong when such a sacred relationship becomes so flexible that it can allow other partners, thereby losing the main honor of marriage

Also, it can bring about emotional stress where jealousy, insecurity, erosion of trust can become the order of the day. How about the increased risk of sexually transmitted diseases due to the presence of other partners? In fact, the open communication people clamor about in such marriages might not even be truly open due to the resentment it could bring.

It can even lead to divorce, because most times, one can develop fondness for the other partners aside from the one committed to.

However, man is a free-will agent and many do not see anything wrong with such marriages, but I am sure that such a union will bring more harm than good due to the moral decadence in those practices.
