Update with regards to the intended steemit promotion activities in Nasarawa State Nigeria

Greetings everyone,
It is a pleasure on my part to share with you all the progress made concerning the intended steemit promotion activities which will be held here in Akwanga a local government area of Nasarawa State Nigeria. A week ago, I made a post about my plans to promote steemit here is my region and the things that will be needed for this promotion.

During the week, I sorted out ways to ensure that this plan of mine materialised. To make the promotion more formal and also get the targeted audience, myself and @josepha who visited me recently went to see the HOD of the computer science department here in the college of education Akwanga to discuss a scheduled period for the seminar of both the lecturers of the department and the students in the department.

The discussion was fruitful and the HOD promised to fix a date for us to hold the seminar for the lecturer first before the students. We also agreed that a date within the first week of February will be suitable for the seminar program. We were unable to take a selfie photo with him on the occasion of our visit because it was late and dark.

To further prepare for the program, myself and @dave-hanny visited the former City coordinator of Nasarawa state in the person @charis20 alongside her husband @fasacity who has been inactive on the steemit platform for a while now. We told them about the promotional plans and asked for their guidance as to how to go about the entire program.

They offered to support and possibly come back to steemit. They showed their support by donating a banner which was previously used by them for promotional activities in the state and they also supported us with two t-shirts, one for steemkidss and the other for promo steem.

We took a few selfies after meeting them and then we left to continue our plans for the seminar and the upcoming zonal meetup which will be taking place here in Nigeria on 11th February 2022 by God's grace.

On arriving home, I and @josepha unveil the banner and the promo t-shirt and decided to take a few photos with it to show our preparation for the seminar and possibly the upcoming meetup. The banner as you can see is an old one and it was that of the @steemalive community. According to our inquiries, the banner cost 10,000 NGN which is equivalent to 71 steem then but at the moment, the cost price of producing a new banner is 15,000 NGN which is equivalent to 107 steem.

We are intending to produce a new banner with time for the promotion activities and this time it won't be branded using any community but will be branded using the steemit logo alone. We are hoping to get more support to carry out this physical promotion activity and also revive the old user and recruit new ones and then have them properly trained.

For the training office, I have decided to use my house as a place for the training immediately after the seminar. This will continue for some periods until we have enough funds to open up a training centre to accommodate more users.

I also talked about the roadshow previously, we also intend to start the roadshow immediately after the seminar. At that time, we will have more users who will also assist us greatly during our outreach to enlighten others about the platform. We do hope that the aim of this promotion will be fulfilled because we also intend to carry out real-life projects like visiting schools and donating branded steemit books, going to orphanages etc.

Finally, I want to appreciate @josepha and @dave-hanny who have also agreed that we should do this to help the community we have found ourselves. I want to appreciate @pennsif, @stephenkendal and @ngoenyi who have always shown their support when it comes to promoting the steemit platform. We are hoping that we will get more bloggers and investors as we spray the good news about steemit to the people of Nasarawa state.
