Stream Steem Bot - Instant Notification About Steem on Discord

Background

In this post I want to share a post about the development activity we recently did. A few days ago, our witness @visionaer3003 was working on running customized a bot on the Steemit Travel community discord server. Already a few months ago he had drafted a list of instructions and information he wanted from discordbot.

As we know that Discord is a chat application that is quite large. Discord is the main utility application that is currently widely used by Steem users for chatting. Discord is used to create community servers, interact with friends, partnerships or develop business strategies. With the support of various features and a friendly interface, Discord is an easy and reliable application for Steem users.

In fact, many large projects on Steem have used Discord to connect their communication network with users. Therefore, the development of DiscordBot which can provide utility for the Steem community and ecosystem seems to be very important. As we know that the notification feature on Steemit.com is very simple which depends on Hivemind which requires you to go to the Steemit.com frontend.

Stream Steem Bot on Discord

Therefore, our witness customized a discord bot, this bot by planetenamek MIT license, bot that can provide a solution to this problem. Instead of chatting, through this designed Discord bot we can control activities that occur on the Steem network directly through instructions and notification support from bots. Our Witness @visionaer3003 connected a discord bot into the Steemit Travel community discord server which will make it easier for us to observe activities that occur on the Steem blockchain network while chatting via Discord.

This bot is named "Stream Steem" which can provide a lot of information which includes:

• Comments
• Posts
• Club status
• Verification user
• Witness notifications (votes, price feed and missed blocks)
• Reblogs
• Follows
• Account-related notifications (key changes, recovery account, etc.)
• DHF-related notifications (offer monitoring, payments)
• Virtual Ops Notifications (SBD Interest, Favored Rewards)
• Tag/Word Watch (monitor a specific tag or words in real-time)

Currently this bot has been running on the CCS (https://discord.gg/xftcGmYP) community discord server and has also been adopted on the Steemit Travel (https://discord.gg/vPu6sdJu) community discord server. The implementation of these bots will be able to help provide informational support to us and monitor directly what is happening in the Steem network. Things that include posting in the community and specific information about users can be searched and tracked using the "Stream Steem" bot that has been connected to the server.

On the Steemit Travel community server, the Bot with the ID SteemitTravel has been able to provide support for instructions and responses regarding the following matters :

Displays the last article of an author.

$created [tag] [count]
Search and displays [count] number of posts from a tag (max 50 - Admin and Mod only).

$bal [user]
Displays a user's wallet.

$curate_Description of your post here_Full link to your Steemit post
 Write the command as is and replace the informations.

$search [user] [tag] [count]
Search and displays [count] number of posts from an author in the specified tag. (Admin and Mod only)

$rank [user]
Displays the rank of the user of your choice. (minnow, dolphin, orca)

$display-list
Displays all items you previously saved in post-saved.json via the $curate function (For curator only)

$count
Displays the number of items you previously saved in post-saved.json via the $curate function (For curator only)

$delete-post
Takes in parameter the ID of the article to be deleted in post-saved.json.(For curator)

$delete-all
Deletes all content in post-saved.json. (For curator only)

$info [user]
Takes as parameter a Steem username without @ and displays its info

$more-info [user]
Displays a personalised list of links to popular Steem blockchain browsing apps. Example : $more-info planetenamek - will display https://steemworld.org/@planetenamek etc...

$clear
Deletes messages from the channel you are on. - Ex : $clear 30 - (For admin only)

Post Notifications on Steemit.com to Discord Using Special Tags

On the other hand, we have also created a channel #steemit-travel-new-post. This channel is a channel that can contain all post links published in the Steemit Travel community (https://steemit.com/trending/hive-163291). Now we would like to announce that the #steemittravel tag is an official tag that must be used by users who publish posts in the Steemit Travel community.

By using the #steemittravel tag on steemit.com, published posts will be notified to the #steemit-travel-new-post channel on the Steemit Travel discod server. We have also created channell #steemit-travel-club100, which will contain all posts from users who are members of the #club100 status. All posts in the Steemit Travel community will be entered on the discord server on both channels.

Conclusion Utilities

Meanwhile, users who want to use instructions and responses from this bot can create instructions via the #bot-chat channel. The "Stream Steem" bot that runs on Discord can make it easy for us to find information without the need to connect to many external webs. While communicating to build chats and partnerships through Discord, we can access the Steem network with notification on Discord.
