Sybil attack at blockchain

If Sybil attack occurs then a person who attacks or try to disrupt the consensus mechanism whatever it is,by the manipulation of voting outcomes or even manipulator can also use double spending in cryptocurrencies so in this way the Integrity and security of the blockchain remains at high risk.

We cannot say that control and counter to Sybil attack is not possible. If there is a Sybil attack at any blockchain then for countering it there could be different mechanism that should be implemented immediately at blockchain and from them proof of work is one of the most suitable approach and in it nodes are used for the solution of mathematical equations for the transaction validation and in this way they earn the right to participate in the consensus process which is using so computationally it becomes very expensive for attacker to create such kind of high amount of Sybil nodes.

If I talk about another approach then proof of state is also in my mind that it could also be used for counting these kind of attacks and in this the consensus process which is influenced by the nodes is determined by the number of tokens that are present totally in network or blockchain or that are staked in a particular blockchain so in this way Sybil attacks could be reduced because it becomes and seems to be very costly for an attacker to arrange and acquire such kind of significant amount of tokens at particular blockchain for staking them.

If I talk about some blockchains then there are reputation system also used in which nodes are responsible for increasing reputation with the passage of time and it all depends upon the contributions so this could be very helpful for the identification of the Sybil attacks by giving more weight to trusted and well established nodes that are working from a long time.

Yes definitely Sybil attacks are very detrimental for blockchain as I have already talk about in above question in one line that these attacks compromise the integrity and security of a blockchain so for understanding this if I would give an example to you then it would be more clear for everyone so let's talk about it with the help of an example that I am going to create with my imagination so its an imaginary example so you have to suppose in it that you have a blockchain.

If there is a blockchain that I have and I can suppose that there are different people working with each other in a friendly manner and there is no problem anyone have about any kind of transaction that is going to happen at blockchain but after sometime someone comes at a blockchain and creates multiple fake identities and it looks that there is a group of identities that seems to be very strange.

Now there is a kind of disturbance due to the presence of these fake identity in our all blockchain because they are also pretending with that they are the real participants that are present in a blockchain. Now these group of strange people can manipulate consensus mechanism of the blockchain and they can also spread wrong information and they would also try definitely to steal the important data like keys that are private for users so they all would make the blockchain less trustworthy that's why immediate solution would be the requirement first of all.

When I talk about blockchain then as there is no single entity that can take over the control that's why it is the first requirement of blockchain network that every user is free to participate in different activities and dynamics at the blockchain but when a manipulator or attacker comes with multiple identities that are fake then definitely they try to take over the control of a significant portion of blockchain so it leads to unsafer and less integral platform or network.

Attacker can take over the control of the consensus process and after that he can also change the history of all the transactions that have occur the previously or in the past and payments can also be reverse by attacker and a manipulator don't let all the transactions to be confirmed also so it leads to a situation of loss in that trust among many of the participants and blockchain leads to a situation of chaos. As well as with this significant control of working power by a manipulator make double spending or rewriting the transduction history attacks more easier to be occur over all in this way security of blockchain also remains very compromised.
