What happened to Steemit today? A few tips during this period.
Many of you probably knows that the platform was down for several hours during today, and if you are not included in any group to connect with others you are probably wondering what happened today? Well, I'm gonna give you a resume of what's going on in Steemit platform.
A few days ago @steemitblog announced an update related to the TRON integration where was mentioned a reward reduction from 50% for the TRX you earn by posting or curating around Steemit. In the past you were gaining in a ratio of 1 SP:1 TRX and after the update you will get 1: SP: 0.5 TRX.
The well known developer for Steemit condenser @ety001 was working on this changes and today the new system was installed which with some accounts started receiving some pending TRX rewards after +20 days without getting any new TRX but not everyone got their rewards and the problems started from here.
Maintaining the word in the witnesses channel on Discord we were notified that the site Steemit.com and api.steemit.com RPC node were facing synchronization issues. The thing was not so heavy, while user still could open the blog they were not showing up new upvotes, posts and practically nothing.
A few minutes ago the issue seems to be solved but I drop here a few recommendations for you during the next 24 hours:
- Don't withdraw tokens, all exchangers use the steemit RPC and if there is another issue you could lose your money temporally.
- Keep your voting power in 80%, this will help you to don't lose curation rewards if the site get down again.
- Don't claim little rewards, in my experience, the TRX only arrive when you claim at least 10 TRX, so you will need to claim at least 20 SP to have more chance to get TRX.
- Keep calm, developers are working hardest to have the things done ASAP, but this could take time.

I didn't know that about the 10trx for minimum claim, interesting.
It's not the first time that some delay happens when they make some change, but it always ends up stabilizing everything.

The TRX do not disappear when you claim smaller amounts. They are only saved up until they reach a threshold value, which was sometimes 10 TRX, sometimes considerably more. I think this has to do with the transaction fee, which exceeds the value of very small amounts...
Die TRX fallen dann auch nicht weg, wenn Du kleinere Beträge claimst. Sie werden nur angespart, bis sie einen Schwellenwert erreichen, der manchmal bei 10 TRX lag, manchmal auch schon deutlich darüber. Ich denke, das hängt mit der Transaktionsgebühr zusammen, die bei sehr kleinen Beträgen deren Wert übersteigt...
