Another Traditional Bengali Jackfruit Prawn Dish - "Echor Chingri (Prawn with Green Jackfruit)"

After almost 2 weeks later I come back here to share another delicious Bengali dish. In our locality in this summer season a lot of green jack-fruits are available now. It's very popular and also very tasty vegetables. If we cook green jack-fruits with prawn then the taste will be increased. In Bengali "Echor" means "Green Jack Fruit" & "Chingri" means "Prawn". So, let's start.
Ingredients:
- Green Jackfruit (sliced) - 500 gm
- Prawn (cleaned) : 250 gm
- Potatoes - 2 pcs
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Tomatoes (chopped)- 1 piece
- Onion (chopped) - 1 piece
- Green Chili - 4-5 pcs
- Turmeric Powder - 3 tbsp
- Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
- Cumin Powder - 3 tbsp
- Black Cumin - 1 tbsp
- Mustard Oil - 150 ml
- Salt - as needed

Tomatoes, Onions, Turmeric Powder, Red Chili Powder, Cumin Powder & Salt
Coconut milk
Cooking Procedure:
=> At first peel the green jack fruit & cut in cube. Wash & clean very well.
Chopped Green Jack Fruit
=> Now, cut potatoes in cube & slice tomato & onion.
=> Clean the prawns very well & marinate with 1/2 tbsp of turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt & red chili powder. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
Marinated Prawn
=> Boil sliced jack fruit with one tbsp of turmeric powder & salt for at least 5 minutes at medium stage flame.
=> Take a fry pan, pour 2 tbsp of oil. Set the flame at low stage. Put all the prawns in the fry pan & fry until both sides of the prawn turns into yellowish colour.
=> Pour rest of the oil to the pan. Keep the flame at medium stage. Add 1 table spoon turmeric powder, cumin powder & red chili powder. Pour 1/2 cup water. Roast the masala mixture for at least 1 minute.
=> Now, add tomatoes & onions to the masala mixture.
=> Put all the prawns & boiled jack fruit in it. Roast it for at least 5 minutes.
=> Pour 1 cup water & 1 cup coconut milk, add green chili, 1 tbsp of turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt & red chili powder. Cover the lid, set the flame at medium stage & cook it for 10 minutes.
=> Your favourite "Echor Chingri" is ready to serve with steamed rice.
