Hello, fellow Steemians and food lovers! Is there anyone of you in this community who wants to learn how to make Kimbap? C'mon, let me show you how to make a special Kimbap that will surely satisfy your cravings.

With all the Korean drama I've watched, I've learned a lot of things. I've even learned to love the kind of food they have. That is when my cravings for Kimbap and Tteok-bokki started. Since there are already a lot of Korean establishments nearby, I looked for this kind of food to give them a try. Just one try so I would know how it should taste and be able to make my own recipe myself.

Are you ready? Let me show you first the ingredients I prepared for my own version of Cheese Kimbap.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo Japanese Rice
  • 5 medium-sized eggs
  • 5 pcs. Chicken Hotdog
  • 1 medium-sized Carrot
  • 1 medium-sized Cucumber
  • 1 box cheese
  • 1 pack 62g. Cheese Whiz
  • Sesame seeds
  • 6 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoon oil
  • 5 sheets seaweed wrap

Directions:

Step 1.

Pour your rice into your cooking pot, rinse it with water 2-3 times, then let it cook.

Step 2.

Peel your carrot and thickly slice it lengthwise.

Step 3.

Same with carrot, peel your cucumber and thickly slice it lengthwise.

3.jpg

Step 4.

Soak your sliced cucumber and carrot using 2 tablespoon vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon salt then set it aside.

4.jpg

Step 5.

Crack the eggs, add salt and pepper to taste, and beat them together in a bowl.

5.jpg

Step 6.

Preheat the pan, add oil, and gradually pour in the egg.

6.jpg

Step 7.

Remove the egg from the pan and let it cool before you slice it into strips.

7.jpg

Step 8.

Slice your hotdog lengthwise, fry it in 3-5 minutes and set it aside to let it cool.

Step 9.

Remove carrot and cucumber from being soaked from vinegar and salt. In 10-15 seconds each, heat your cucumber and carrot in your dishpan.

8.jpg

Step 10.

Same with your sliced carrot and cucumber, heat your seaweed wrap in your dishpan for 5-10 seconds.

Step 11.

Slice your cheese lengthwise.

Now, with all your ingredients ready. You can now start assembling your Kimbap. You can use a bamboo roller mat or you can just freely roll it without using any tool. Make sure to apply just a slight force enough not to ruin but tightly seal your Kimbap.

Step 12.

Place bamboo mat on a flat surface and place a sheet of seaweed wrap on top of it.

15.jpg

Step 13.

Evenly spread about 3/4 cup of rice on the wrap enough to cover it.

16.jpg

Step 14.

Drizzle cheese on top of the rice and sprinkle 1/2 teaspoons of sesame seeds.

Step 15.

Lay one piece of carrot, cucumber, 2 slices of hotdog and a strip of egg.

Step 16.

Lay 2 strips of cheese and drizzle it again with a cheese spread. You can add as much cheese as you want.

Step 17. Start to roll one side of the seaweed wrap over to the ingredients until it is tightly sealed.

Follow the same steps until you are able to use all your ingredients.

Step 18.

Slice your Kimbap into 1/2 inch size per piece.

Voila!!! Your special Cheese Kimbap is ready to serve.

I love it more when it is topped with mayonnaise as it just perfectly blends with the taste of the cheese.

Awesome, right? Feel free to personalize your ingredients to make it more special. You can use bacon, kimchi rice, tuna to anything you like to add to enjoy it more.
