I NEVER KNEW THIS ABOUT CANTALOUPES!
The things life with children can teach you!
Normally, and I put emphasis on "normally," cut cantaloupes like a normal person. Children, however, take a while to become normal. That said.... when things are done in abnormal ways, you can see things differently than you otherwise would. When cantaloupes are sliced from end (the normal way) the center with the hollow part and seeds looks like a simple, elongated, bowl (sort of). However, when you child is helpful and decides to slice it open "sideways" across the center of the cantaloupe, there is apparently a "flower" shape, which I never knew before. Did you know this? I'm honestly 40 years old, and this is the first time I've ever seen it! Check it out.
A beautiful, enjoyable cantaloupe surprise!
I do remember doing that when I was a child
