👩🏼‍🍳TRADITIONAL DESSERT RECIPE- SEKERPARE👩🏼‍🍳

Hello to everyone;

Everyone has some habits in their life that they are happy to do. Some people read when they are happy, while others sing and dance. I love sweet food when I am happy. I have the characteristics of a general Taurus, I love to eat and try new flavors.

I can eat it all the time if the sweet is not harmful and does not cause weight gain. Because when I eat dessert, I feel happier and more positive. As the title suggests, I will explain the recipe for a traditional dessert, Şekerparen. Since my wife loves this dessert very much, I try to make it occasionally when I have the opportunity.

Şekerpare is a dessert with dough and syrup. This delicious dessert in Ottoman cuisine is still loved and consumed today. It is a sweet that is consumed very fondly during Ramadan. It is also sold in ready-made packages. Only sherbet is poured over the prepared ones.

Materials;
  • 125 grams of margarine or butter. (I make it with margarine. The margarine should be at room temperature.)
  • 2 Eggs (Only the yolk of one egg will be put on it.)
  • Half a glass of semolina and half a glass of powdered sugar.)
  • 1 Tea glass of sunflower oil.
  • 1 packet of baking powder and 1 packet of vanilla
  • 3 or 3.5 cups of flour (You should adjust the flour yourself according to the softness of your dough. The amount of flour may vary.)
    Sherbet Ingredients;
  • 4 glasses of water
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • A few drops of lemon juice
    To decorate;
  • You can use hazelnuts or powdered pistachios. Coconut is also very good.
RECIPE OF SEKERPARE;
  • First, we prepare our syrup. Put the water and sugar in a small saucepan. We boil our syrup for about ten minutes. Then we squeeze a few drops of lemon juice into it. After adding the lemon juice, we boil it for 5 more minutes and take it from the stove as our syrup should be warm.

  • For the dough of Şekerpare dessert, we take margarine or butter in a bowl. As I wrote earlier, it should be at room temperature. Then we add eggs, sunflower oil, semolina and powdered sugar on it and mix.

  • Add the flour little by little to the ingredients. While adding the flour, we also add the baking powder and vanilla. (It will be better if you sift the flour and use it.) We knead our dough well until it reaches the consistency of an earlobe.
    -It's time to shape our dough. We flatten the walnut-sized pieces we cut off by pressing on them and give the ends a pointed shape. You can also make the shape round and put whole hazelnuts on it.
  • Lay the greaseproof baking paper on the baking tray and brush it with egg yolk. After you finish shaping and apply the egg yolk, you can gently scratch it with a fork.

  • We preheat our oven and open the top and bottom settings of our oven. We bake our candies in the oven at 180 degrees until they are golden brown. Since the cooking time of each oven is different, I cannot give an exact time.

  • Pour the warm syrup over the hot Şekerpare desserts. Since I use baking paper, I put my desserts in my debt and put the syrup there. We leave our covered dessert to rest for a few hours. You can decorate it and serve it.
