STEEMFOODS: PORK STEAMED RICE

How are you all my fellow steemians in the steemfoods community? I hope you are all staying safe. Today's featured dish is a dish that originated in my hometown. It was invented by a famous dim sum restaurant here in the Philippines and became a popular dish that all the locals crave. The dish is called Pork Steamed Rice. The dish has two components, the steamed rice and the pork sauce that contains carrots, green peas, shrimp broth, seasoning, and sesame oil. This dish is so fragrant it just makes you hungry as soon as you have the slightest whiff of its aroma. Now I'll show you how it's done so you can all make it at the comfort of your own homes.

INGREDIENTS

700 grams Pork Tenderloin, diced
200 grams Green Peas
1 medium size Carrot, diced
1 medium size White Onion, chop
5 cloves Garlic, finely chop
3 tablespoon Green Onion, chop
1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1/2 tablespoon Fish Sauce
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Powder
1 pinch Cumin Powder
1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1 tablespoon Salt
1 piece Knorr Shrimp Cube
1/4 teaspoon Sesame Oil
3 tablespoon Cornstarch, dissolved/dilluted with 1 cup water
3 cups Water
5 tablespoon Cooking Oil
8 cups Left-Over Rice

PROCEDURE

STEP 1: On a pot, get your oil nice and hot then start to saute your chopped onions. Lower the heat and add the chopped garlic.

STEP 2: Once the onions becomes translucent and garlic turns brownish, add in pork and saute for 2 minutes uncovered.

STEP 3: After sauteeing, add 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne powder and a pinch of cumin powder.

STEP 4: Pour in 3 cups of warm water then add Knorr Shrimp Cube. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

STEP 5: After 10 minutes, add 200g of green peas and diced carrots. Cook for another 5 minutes.

STEP 6: Meanwhile, steam left-over rice for 8 minutes.

STEP 7: Once pork is soft and tender, make a slurry of cornstarch and water. Add the mixture to the sauce then cook for 2 minutes to thicken.

STEP 8: Add chopped green onions and 1/4 teaspoon of sesame oil. Now the sauce is ready.

STEP 9: To assemble, prepare steamed rice in a bowl then top with a generous amount of pork sauce.
