HOW TO MAKE NIGERIAN FRIED RICE AND OVEN GRILLED TILAPIA FISH by @kanuprecious.
Hello wonderful food lovers,hope you all are doing great? It feels so good to be amongst fellow food lovers,this is my first post in this community. Today I will be showing you guys how I make fried rice and tilapia fish. Nigerian fried rice is a simple yet delicious dish and is prepared with fresh vegetables which includes carrots, green beans, spring onions, pepper, ginger and garlic. These vegetables have health benefits as they provide you with essential vitamins and minerals.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE FRIED RICE
1.Rice (7 cups).
2.Carrots (3 large ones).
3.Green beans (a handful).
4.Spring onions (a handful).
5.Ginger(a thumb size).
6.Garlic(7 cloves).
7.scotch bonnet pepper(7 pieces, depending on how hot you want your food to be).
8.Seasoning and spices.( 2 tablespoons of chicken seasoning, 2 tablespoons of curry mix, 1 tablespoon of thyme, 4 bouillon cubes).
9.Vegetable oil (250ml).
10.Salt to taste.
INGREDIENTS FOR THE FISH
1.Tilapia fish (2)
2.Lime (2)
3.Suya spice (yaji) (3 tablespoons)
4.Pepper (2)
5.Oil (2 tablespoons)
6.ginger
7.Spring onions.
The ingredients below
Vegetable oil
Cut all the vegetables and set aside.
PROCEDURES
For the fish
Remove scales and gut the fish then wash properly, make small cuts on both sides of the fish.
Apply the suya spice all over the fish on both sides, cover with a plastic bag and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, apply a mix of pepper, oil, ginger and spring onions on the fish.
Place the fish in the oven and grill for 40mins on medium heat.
Remove the fish after it's done and let it rest.
Now lets cook the rice
Wash the rice and place in a pot, cover with water and let it cook for 15mins.
Place your pot on the stove and set the stove to high, add oil let it heat up then add garlic and onions.
Next is to add your ginger.
Then add thyme.
Then add carrots next and allow it to fry for 2 minutes
Next is to add green beans and fry for a minute.
Next step is to pour the rice in, add the pepper, add the seasoning and spices, then add salt to taste.
Give it a good mix and then finally add the spring onions.
Voilà, the rice is ready!
