Hello steemians! I trust we all had a great day. This is my first post in this awesome community. I am delighted to share my favorite Street food restaurant.

My name is Chikoma Hannah. I am from Delta State in Nigeria. I was born and brought up in the Western Part of Nigeria; Lagos which is dominated by the yoruba Ethnic group. The yoruba ethnic group has this food as their native food. I grew up to like this food so much and it is my favorite.

MY FAVORITE STREET FOOD

I would be featuring this street food restaurant that sells different kinds of food. The restaurant is called WAA RIKE FOOD CANTEEN. The owner of the restaurant is a yoruba woman. she used her name as the name of the restaurant by adding Food Canteen to it. My favorite food in this restaurant is Amala,Ewedu, gbegiri and stew. This food is my favorite in this restaurant because they give good quality at an affordable price.

THE INGREDIENTS

The basic ingredient for the amala is yam flour. it could be black or white.
The yam flour is gotten from dried yam that is blended.
The ingredients for the ewedu is ewedu leaf, locust beans, salt ,potash and a broom to chop it to pieces. This leaf is a weed in my village but an essential ingredient for this food to the yoruba's.
The ingredients for the Gbegiri is well peeled beans blended to make paste, palmoil, pepper, maggi, salt.
The ingredients for the stew is tomatoes, pepper palmoil, desired meat, fish, seasoning and salt to taste.
The combination of this variety of ingredients prepared seperately makes this food so delicious.
Not every family or restaurant can prepare this meal to achieve the desire taste. WAA RI KE FOOD CANTEEN has become a specialist in making this food. she started the food business by the road side on a table. Today the story is different because she was consistent in what she was doing.
They are also into different kinds of food and outdoor services for any kind of event where this food is needed.

THE MENU

They sell depending on what you want to buy. With 250 Naira you can eat a plate of food. The amala is sold for 100 Naira, while the soup is given for free. The meat is dependent on the buyer. the least amount is 100 for beef, their bokoto meat is 300 naira while their goat meat is 500 naira
so whatever you want to buy is dependent on your choice and your money.

THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF THE RESTAURANT

The building is a small bungalow situated opposite the road. The inside is demarcated. There is a session where you can order for the food and a session where you sit to eat your food.

I placed my order: Two wraps of amala, ewedu, gbegiri, and stew with two beef. This goes for 400 Naira.

The Location
The restaurant is situated along victor fagbemi Road Aboru Iyana Ipaja Lagos.

I will always board a tricycle for 50 naira from my house to the place just to eat amala.

This food gives me so much delight. I enjoy eating it preferably in the afternoon. Any one can eat it. If you are a Nigerian you can give it a try thats if you have not. we also have Nigerian restaurant in other part of the world. you can give it a try. you will love it.
