Oh Joy, Spring Flowers
Precious native, small flowers that are very important to certain bees, flowers, butterflies and moths.
These are just 2 of the tiny native flowers blooming in my backyard right now.
We don't have a lot of the grass that was planted in our backyard more than 30 years ago, therefore we have tiny, native flowers and grasses that return every year.
We have planted a lot of white clover in our backyard(see above photo) so we don't have to mow very much of the yard because it only grows to a height of 10 inches or so and has flowers that the bees love!
The tiny, native flowers don't grow very tall either, but some native grasses do tend to grow higher than a foot and make the yard hard to clean up where our dog takes care of her business!
My husband does mow the sections of the backyard with the native tiny flowers and grasses.
We have planted more of the white clover in the bare spots this spring.
How is your yard/garden looking this year?
Have a Blessed Day!
