Although it is still not possible to find 5G phones on the market, in China there is already talk of 6G.

Su Xin, head of the 5G technology working group at the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, reveals that China has started doing research on 6G as early as 2018. The country is one of the first in the world to do so. This attests to the fact that China wants to establish itself more and more as a leader in the technology sector and the great digital transformations.

What will change from the long-awaited 5G to 6G?

First the speed, 1TB per second to download data. Furthermore, it will be an even more widespread network that will reach areas that 5G is still unable to cover.

Indeed, some Chinese engineers claim that the spread of the 5G network will not be able to cover the depths of the seas and oceans. What the 6G network instead intends to do is its underwater coverage.

There are experts, however, who believe it is still too early to talk about 6G network development, as the spread of 5G has not yet begun.

What is worth pointing out, however, is that the middle country is really and consistently investing in technology. Since 2015, according to Deloitte, China has spent more than the United States on wireless communications infrastructure for around $ 24 billion.

Where does all this find its application within the country?

It will certainly make pivotal companies such as ZTE, Huawei and Tencent increasingly strong and competitive, which carry out continuous research and development.

At the state level, however, these modern technologies will lead the state to have a stronger and more detailed control over citizens with the use of surveillance cameras with facial recognition. These cameras are already connected with the police and in 2019 the Social ranking system will be strengthened, where citizens are rewarded or punished based on their actions, controlled through these digital police.

In mid-November of this year, British Telecom (BT) Network Chief Architect Neil McRae, in an industry forum, argued about the prospect of the 6G network, including that of the seventh generation, the 7G.

For McRae, if 6G will be an upgrade of 5G with the satellite network, the 7G network will be divided into "7G base" and 7.5G, in which the basic version will be essentially 6G + the roaming space of the satellite network.

Furthermore, according to Neil McRae's analysis, the 5G network, and even more the 6G, will be integrated with the satellite network, for example the satellite navigation network, which today has three different global navigation network systems, GPS United States, Beidou (Compass) of China, Russian GLONASS, will bring to 6G this great challenge of how to interact and how to move between the different satellite systems, which will be a challenge to be solved in the 7G era.

But not only does China look beyond 5G. , shows the company in 2030.
