Started our week with snow on the ground and some wet miserable weather. By Thursday and Friday the sun was out and it was time to get out of the house and explore! We can leave our house, go a short distance and pass through a gate that leads us into the woods. While some of these woods are quite familiar to us... being isolated we felt it was time to expand our walk and explore some new areas across the forest road behind our house. Besides we were also starting to crave longer walks and more time in the outdoors. :)

Crossing The Road

Still very cold nights and mornings. This frozen puddle in the road had some very interesting colors of reflected sunlight. It was really only visible from a certain angle. Perhaps oil?

Entering The Rocks

As we continued on the trail it began a gentle uphill slope and the rock formations became visible. We wound our way through several different formations before looping back to where we began. The following images are some of the formations we encountered.

A great little 3 mile tour and all of this only about a half mile as the crow flies from my house. :)
