ESPN and Netflix will show the story of the best player in history along with one of the biggest teams in the NBA in the documentary "The Last Dance"

Hello Steemians, last Sunday by the sport television network, ESPN, released a documentary divided in ten episodes focused on the 97-98 season of the Chicago Bulls which meant the last one of Michael Jordan with the team.

The Best Team

This post is not a review of the first two episodes already released, it is more focused on what it meant to me to watch the Chicago Bulls play from 1991 to 1998, seven years sitting in front of the TV no matter what time it was, this was something my older brother and I liked to watch forever, But if before that time we were told that we would see someone do something like the Bulls did led by Jordan, Pippen and Phil Jackson, I think it was said that it was something impossible to see and that was because I had only been surprised to see a player do wonderful things in a game and that was Diego Maradona in the 86th and 90th World Cups.

The Last Dance

In 91 was the introduction of the NBA in every home in Venezuela, a great final between Los Angeles Lakers led by the famous Magic Johnson against the unrecognized Chicago Bulls of Michael Jordan, in the state where I live here in Venezuela, At that time we had our local basketball league team, "Los Toros de Aragua ", the logo was the same one used by the Chicago team, the big difference is that never in our team has anyone looked like the stars of the NBA, but that the logos were similar made many children, teenagers and adults felt great sympathy for the Chicago team and even more when they won, but if there was one thing that impressed us and made us recognize the greatness of Jordan it was that great play when he made a change in the air to score two points, That magnificent move switching the ball from one hand to the other making the feint and leaving his opponents just watching was something as impressive as if we were watching a miracle, that certainly changed everything and made each of us go crazy for "MJ " and the Chicago Bulls.

The Play

Since that year it was crazy, unanimously we were all fans of the "Chicago Bulls", everyone wanted to imitate Jordan, everyone wanted to play as that duo of Michael and Pippen, but it was not only them, they were also Horace Grant, B. J. Armstrong, John Paxson, Toni Kukoč, I also remember one of my favorite players Steve Kerr, who commentators in Latin America called "El Arma Secreta" and how to forget the arrival of the most controversial player I had seen Dennis Rodman, many players at different times, but with a great importance in the role they had to play and this was what made that team bigger during their 6 championships won, Basketball was something I always waited to see every year and when the time came for Michael Jordan to retire, it was when a little bit of that desire went away even though I was able to continue watching NBA, thanks to Tim Duncan and Los San Antonio Spurs_, but after that I think that the desire is over even though today this sport has even more fame than before, I think that the time where I discovered this league with these players made me enjoy not only the best of all times, but other players that will be unforgettable.

The end of an era

That's why watching this documentary, its first two episodes, made me have that nostalgia for those great moments reunited with my brother and the many childhood friends playing basketball in the street, on any court, imitating the best and dreaming of one day being them, I am glad that new generations can see the greatness of not just one player, but his teammates, his coach, see how a team led by the best could create a great story that many will want to imitate and overcome, But the best thing about this documentary I think is that many people remembered and cannot hide how good and competitive basketball was in those days, even though they were facing an extremely winning team, their rivals never gave up competing as equals against them, that would make the champions show what they are made of and in the end they would not only compete against rivals but against themselves, overcoming adversity to become the kings of basketball again. This is what this documentary has done in me and I don't say this just because I saw the first two episodes, I think and I say this from the moment I heard about it and I think I have waited more than any TV show or movie for the premiere of this series and I thank the people who made it possible because as I have always said remember is to live and more when you saw one of the best teams that have ever existed.
