There's been quite the list of criticisms thrown at bitcoin over the years, and like the others the latest will soon be put to rest as well.

The popular negative narrative surrounding bitcoin lately is that it is going to destroy the planet due its energy consumption.

While it's true that it uses a large amount of energy, that energy isn't all fossil fuels....

In fact, a big chunk, that is growing even bigger is green.

We just had this come out today from a very wealthy person that cares very much about the environment and he's not too concerned...

If you compare the carbon footprint to gold's, it's merely a fraction of the environmental impact.

If you compare it to the legacy financial system, it's even less.

It's fun to bash bitcoin, it's less fun to do some critical thinking.

The next time you see someone bashing bitcoin due to its energy consumption and environmental impact, remind them its fractions of investment banks and the gold industry, plus it's getting greener by the day.

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
