Good day, everyone!

I just wanna share my art to you, a pencil drawing of my sister.

I can't show you step by step pictures of how I did the drawing but I can enumerate the details of how I got to start then finish it.

This is from my own experience, I am not yet an expert but I would love to share how I did my artworks to inspire others.

ibmarei.art steps so drawing realism (person):

  1. Get a clean paper of your choice. This is in a beginner's perspective. Any paper would do as long as you can draw in the space of the paper. For me, I got a page from my sketch pad and cut it in my desired size (8.5"x11").
The paper has got a kind of a little rough surface, I would recommend those kinds of paper in using a pencil drawing.

  2. Prepare your pencils. ANY PENCIL WOULD DO. As for me, I only used one shade of pencil. Although, it's better to use different shades from dark to light. Use pencils you are comfortable with at the moment.

  3. Print your reference with gridlines BUT you could also use a gridline app for drawings which can be downloaded on your mobile devices. It saves paper. I recommend to use that.
So for the ones who uses the app: set your gridline distances. It's better to use the size of your paper in cropping a picture for the gridlined reference. Turn the reference picture to black and white.

  4. Draw faint details of gridlines on your paper. Just do it with light strokes to avoid harsh erasures later on.

  5. Start drawing. Pay close attention to the details.

The gridlines helps you in drawing accurately. So keep practicing, and keep learning, fighter! We're all in this together.
