A promise I wish we'd kept
A love i wish we'd kept alive
You were my undoing
You were mine
You'd completed me, you were my whole
We were happy, I was happy
I was happy with you
We needed no psychic to make it clear
The world could see our love
Oh! How time flew
Our love, grew...into nothing
I became history, I didn't even notice your absence
I missed us,
The city didn't favor us, it favored me without you
I was lost in ambition, I lost my love
Its too late now, I see that now
I see the pain in your heart, I ache too
I see the holes in your heart, I bleed too
I can see how I fit perfectly in your world
I can't let you go, not yet
Let's get back
Let's re-open the chapter of our eternity
Where we'd be together until our lungs give out
For this is the only word with a promise
