SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Happy day to all Hive communities!

I am proud to be Venezuelan, this Country has a lot to offer tourists, for the beauty of landscapes, flora and fauna that characterize it.

Annually across the globe, heavenly landscapes, remote cultures, unprecedented adventures, extreme temperatures, gastronomic varieties, ancient stories, luxury hotels, are reasons why millions of people travel the world in search of these and other experiences.

According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), it is expected to reach 1.8 billion by 2030. Although this may vary due to the unexpected appearance of covid-19 that paralyzed the world.

One of the fastest growing sectors of the economy internationally, responsible for 10% of world GDP, 7% of exports and one in eleven jobs in the world, tourism really seems to be a good activity, when not We consider the inequalities and the negative impacts it generates.

Within a planet that increasingly lives with serious problems that hinder sustainable development, such as climate change, the depletion of natural resources, poverty and hunger, tourism acts as a cause and also as a possible solution to these and other urgent needs.

It is up to us, as travelers, businessmen, leaders or authorities, to think about how we can promote tourism that contributes to well-being, quality of life and appreciation of the culture of the communities, balance and preservation of the environment and economic sustainability. From small to large businessman.

A few days ago I read the Conception that the WTO defines on sustainable tourism:

"Tourism that fully considers its
current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, serving the needs of visitors, the industry,
the environment and local communities"

Today, recognized as a path towards sustainable development and harmony, sustainable tourism is one of the main debates in the sector, bringing together the participation of academics, businessmen, associations, authorities and travelers from all over the world.

A resolution endorses the "Promotion of sustainable tourism, including ecotourism, for the eradication of poverty and protection of the environment, recognizing sustainable tourism as a strategic tool to reduce poverty, protect biodiversity and communities in developing.

For us, everyone can (and should!) Participate in this great "present and future thinking", which is sustainable and responsible tourism. Doing your part is easy, whether you are a traveler, businessman, blogger, journalist, manager or lover of tourism.

Every day new ideas and opportunities arise to transform tourism into an increasingly fun, enjoyable and profitable activity for everyone. The proposal here is to exchange these ideas, learn from them and, of course, multiply them.

I consider Hive Blog as a door of opportunities to promote the values ​​that strengthen sustainable tourism.
