Now that we had gained some basic sailing skills, it was time for our first overnight sailing adventure. Here I am at the helm of the Constanza, our training boat.

In the classroom, we learned to plot courses by hand and now we got a chance to test our skills while we were sailing.

Of course, we still used the GPS as a backup. We had a really difficult sail that day, because of the headwind. In red is the course we had set and purple is the actually route we had to take to sail directly into the wind.

We spent the night on the boat, in a lovely sheltered bay.

The tiny green dots on the horizon are the squid boats that go out to fish at night.
