[ESP/ING] What a stinky flower/Que flor tan apestosa
Hace dos años me entusiasmé con los cactus y recientemente le regalaron a mi esposo esta curiosa y rústica plata, no parece tener mucho encanto pero es un buen compañero para otras plantas. Ella simplemente creció y se expandió, pero no parecía tener nada más que mostrar. ¡HA! Pero como muchas cosas nos sorprenden después de haberlas subestimado demasiado, esta planta realmente me dejó alucinado con su flor.
Two years ago I got excited about cacti and recently they gave my husband this curious and rustic silver, it does not seem to have much charm but it is a good companion for other plants. She just grew and spread but she didn't seem to have anything else to show for it. HA! But as many things surprise us after we have underestimated them too much, this plant really blew me away with its flower.
El boton de la flor era gigantesco comparado con la planta madre y era solo uno, pensé lo lindo que era cuando se abría, era como una campana, tal vez tendría un aroma dulce y delicado pero no ... Cuando acerqué mi nariz me sorprendió ese olor fétido.
The buttom of flowe was gigantic compared to the mother plant and it was only one, I thought how beautiful it was when it was opening, it was like a bell, maybe it would have a sweet and delicate aroma but no ... When I brought my nose I was shocked by that smell fetid.
Cómo una flor puede oler tan mal, no es posible, tal vez había oído hablar de la Raflesia pero esto no era normal para mí. Busqué y busqué en Internet hasta que encontré la Stapelia Gigantea.
Apestaba, a un metro de distancia se podía oler el hedor y la peor parte fue cuando le pedí a mamá que lo oliera y ella, emocionada, metió la nariz en él cuando acababa de abrirlo.
How a flower can smell so bad, it is not possible, maybe I had heard of the Raflesia but this was not normal for me. I searched and searched the internet until I found the Stapelia Gigantea.
It stank, a meter away you could smell the stench and the worst part was when I asked Mom to smell it and she excitedly stuck her nose into it when it was just opened.
La flor solo vivió un día, no sé si por suerte o por desgracia porque fue visitada por muchas moscas que pusieron sus huevos en ella.
Creo que me la quiero quedar porque es un tema de conversación muy interesante y claro, no solo por eso, es una flor muy bonita a pesar de todo.
The flower only lived one day, I don't know if luckily or unfortunately because it was visited by many flies that laid their eggs in it.
I think I want to keep it because it is a very interesting and clear topic of conversation, not only for that, it is a very beautiful flower despite everything.
