Contest; Playing Along
Playing along can help in the unity and growth of friends and must be used positively by the individuals involved.
Hello everyone. Welcome to another week with this amazing contest organised by @sahmie. I’d like to take this time to appreciate him and go ahead to share my thought with you here.
What makes a game enjoyable is the fun everyone has when playing a game. Everyone in the game is open to either win or fail, and they are not bothered about it. They only want to enjoy the time being spent with the others in playing that game.
Yes, I have. I was the one who didn’t play along because I had some personal issues, and I was trying to take care of it. This made me a bit isolated when my friends were chatting.
It was actually my fault that I was deprived of that moment of laughter and fun because I couldn’t leave my personal issues at home.
It was in a way disturbing to my close friend there because she kept looking at my face to know why I didn’t participate in the conversation, but nothing was told. In a way, I tried to hide it just to flow with them, but it was not sustainable.
Playing along can be unhealthy at a point. If one is playing along, it should come from a place of determination, and from the heart. It can affect relationships negatively by having shorter relationships with people.
On the other hand, one who can play along just to bring someone to the brighter side is very okay and encouraging. Sometimes, building friendships means one party or both parties must play along to accommodate each other.
I’ve seen cases where I must play along just to maintain peace in the friendship, and for the number of times I try, it keeps working.
But I make it obvious at the end of the day that one must also respect my boundaries. That way, playing along comes from not just me, but from the other person involved.
I have. When my friends seem to be laughing at something very funny when I didn’t get what was said, I laugh along with them. It’d be so odd sitting among people who do something while yours is different.
At other times, I may get the message some minutes after something was said, and I’d still laugh again, telling them it was very funny.
Tolerance: Playing along helps us to be patient with people who are willing to adjust for good. This also shows that we can accommodate other persons and their differences.
Encouragement: Playing along serves as an encouragement. People are motivated or inspired to keep doing something good simply because there’s someone who’s playing along cheering them on.
Love: playing along goes beyond the love one has for self to extending it to the other members of the group. This love comes from the place of understanding, which is also the creativity found in it.
Would like to invite @eveetim, @bela90 and @sur-riti to participate in this contest.
