The Diary Game || 30-11-24 || Attending the Biggest Steemit Meetup ever

Steemit platform is one of the rare platforms that has offline and online modes. The online mode is the virtual connection we made in the platform that quality posts, meaningful comments and other activities. The offline mode is seen in meetup which is usually seen in most countries including Nigeria. I was opportune to attend the biggest meetup that has ever happened in Nigeria. Let's get to the details.

Waking up, I had to thank the creator for another blessed day in anticipation. From there, I did my house chores and rushed out to plaza to attempt a mission. On my way back, I had a call from my mother telling me to come home quick as she was about to go out. The fact behind this call was that there was a worker in the house and I have to be around.

When I came home, she went out to purchase items in the market since everyone went out. I had to keep a close watch on the worker since he was hired for painting work. As time went on, he finished and my anticipation was on the meet up coming. When it was time, I prepared to go to the proposed venue (Oba field). Coincidentally, my mother came back and I left for the meetup. In the venue, I met other steemians which later joined.

The event started in earnest as @johnmitchel was the MC. The event started with an introduction which all steemians there had to introduce themselves with their username on Steemit. Honestly, I was happy to see the virtual users that I have been communicating with in their physical form. Earlier on, @bossj23 told us that he won’t be present for the meetup, so he requested a Whatsapp video call to be done so that he could join virtually. I and @imohmitch handled the video call coverage. After the session of introduction, three important sessions were handled by @ngoenyi, @goodybest and @xkool24.

With this session, different topics like why Steemit, engagement, learning challenges, etc were discussed to the understanding of the audience. This important session was finalized with questions and answers. The format was that a question from a steemian is brought to the house and the whales (members of the high table) will give an answer. With that, I learnt about newcomer verification, the dos and don’ts of powering down, etc. The next session was actually sponsored by @bossj23 and he called it his prank due to the description on the surprise box.

The MC handled this session and he called the members of the high table to give the nominated awardees their proposed awards. I was fortunate to be an awardees’ thus I was given a portrait. I felt like I was on cloud 9 because I didn’t expect that masterpiece. I will use this opportunity to thank Bossj23 for gifting me that portrait. We realize his term "pranks" was nothing like such but more of a great gifting session.
A vote of thanks was given by @benton3 and everyone moved to a combined session of entertainment and photography sessions. With that, I had to take selfies with notable whales in the meetup.

Even if I succeeded in achieving 60% of my aim due to time, I hope I'll be able to do more in the next meetup. After the photography session, one can eat to his or her satisfaction while vibing to the background music which became a hit. During the dance session, I saw several Steemians who unleashed their dance abilities in personalities like @alli001 and @fortwis09. With that, I thanked the host and went home to have a night rest towards the next day. My sincere appreciation to Steem4Nigeria community, Steem kids and parents community and @goodybest for making sure that the event was a success. Hoping to attend the next one in the soonest time.
