Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 32: What I wasn't taught in school
Good day steem4nigeria. I want to specially commend the author of this contest, it's indeed an interesting contest topic, it caught my attention and only one thing came to my mind, when I first saw it, I would love to first of all invite @bossj23, @patjewell @zekanem. To comment on my opinion about the contest topic and also participate in the contest.
Am I of the opinion that school can teach me everything or i've got a contrary opinion? |

Well, I'm of the opinion that "No", it's not possible for school to teach everything, but it's possible for it to teach everything that is related to the basic way of life. School can teach you how to socialize, be of good behavior in a society and become successful and all, but it can't teach you how to get married, and how to run your home, this is where your parents, relatives and friends come in.

Well now, I find myself being unable to socialize with the outside world, having fear for the crowd, and can't make friends. Normally these things are supposed to be taught and learnt at school by teachers, but I lacked such teachings. Our teacher only now focus on covering their curriculum, no one cares about the shy student, or the dumb ones who find it hard to learn fast, or interact in class.
This is bad because a lot of people go into depression as a result of boredom, or timidness, at times this students get bullied for their quietness, and all these kill their confidence. Someone like me is a victim of it, if only Iearnt how to socialize with my classmates in school at an early age, I won't be having problems making friends, or even facing the crowd to give a speech or something like that.

I read books, watch movies(alot), and also tried on my own to interact, I started by being too friendly, but along the line I noticed that people where taking advantage of that, so I stopped. At times I mimick film characters, trust me this helped to some extent, but to round up everything, I'll say, I worked on myself, boosted my confidence on my own, but will now I still get stage fright a little.

In my own opinion, aside the regular and normal teaching, the teachers should take out at least 15 minutes of their teaching time, to turn the class into a question and answer one, also try to create a bond with the students, and also try to get the students to interact with each other, this will also help promote socialization in school.
Many children are very timid, just like me, we find it hard to make friends, or even interact with our classmates, if only the teachers can be more interactive in class, we get an opportunity we barely have, and I know that can create a positive bond between students, and also boost courage in some timid children. And also many shy student would learn to face crowd and this will eliminate stage fright.

Creating an interactive class is another beautiful to teach children as they will encounter people as they grow up and a child that his or her self esteem is already built up will do well in communicating with people. Nice entry

You are correct. Even though I was a graduate, I was bad at socialising and I even lacked self confidence but life teaches us better than even school.
