Introduction

It's another beautiful week and I station myself as a Watchman that needed not be ashamed, proclaiming to steemit that which has occured in my hood .... 😅😅.

Join me as I analye the weather, the economic and social state of my hood.

Guide 1:
The weather

The current weather situation here is almost out of hand, our houses feel like ovens, walking in the afternoon seems impossible. The heat is very merciless... I'm afraid the consequences of global warming has started reflecting on our dear hood.

Bushes are cleared in preparation for the planting season

This period is however the period of farm clearing as most farms in my neighborhood are being cleared and the weeds burnt in readiness for the planting season.

Guide 2:
Economic Situation

Hmmmm... A sigh couldn't help but escape my lips when I want to talk about our economy. Things are still as they were if not worse. Prices of commodities are on the rise. Many buildings in the hood has been placed on hold as cement which was five thousand Naira (approx. 17 steems) early last month became seven thousand five hundred Naira (approx. 25steems early this week andEight thousand Naira (approx. 27steems) this morning.

Building projects are suspended, due to high costs of materials

Cassava flour popularly known as garri, a staple food in my hood and the country is now sold for 150 Naira (0.5 steems) and a cup of our locally produced rice is sold for 240 Naira(0.8steems). The price of virtually everything from a plot of land down to even children's candy have doubled if not tripled. One cannot afford to be sick this period as a bout of sickness can empty ones little possession, and a slightly severe one might make ine to sell a plot of land. Nevertheless we still hope everything will return to normalcy.

Guide 3:
Social Situation

Our social state has been busy this week. here are some reasons;

  • Our country lost the Grammy awards to South Africa's after a lot... Well, instead of mourning we looked at the fact we beat the country we lost to during the AFCON matches.

  • speaking of the AFCON matches, we are yet to recover from the pain of having our joy taken away.
Yes, our joy at the AFCON matches was as it peak when we reached the finals and yes we already saw the cup in our hands. But we lost. Thankfully we didn't loose a soul to high blood pressure.

  • Finally, it's Valentine's Day, and oh dear stemians the hood was beautiful. Young boys and girls holding hands while the older ones at the background are shooing and lamenting about the fall in morals..... Well I'm just a Watchman, I'll say no more about people's love affair and who's right or wrong.

  • Kids are at school, while the working class members go to work with hopeful faces. Those at home join me in watching the hood and praying for those who are out.

It's actually farming season, I remember years back, whenever it was farming season I'll go and help my mother in farming.
But because of kids, I can't travel to the village to plant rather, I'm looking for a farm around my neighbourhood, if you have one, do let me know.
That's by the way, talking about the statef our country's economy, it's quite a pitiable situation. That's why you have uncompleted buildings everywhere due to lack of cash. I pray God will see us through. It's well!

Best wishes sir

Thanks for the invitation my brother.
I enjoyed reading from you.
Going through your neighborhood watch, from the 9ja match, the weather conditions due to heat currently, the plant and etc. It's worth every analysis.
You write in a clear simple term very understandable to all.
Kudos 👍
